hedonism, especially mental. tries to fight anxiety, fear of death and of the wrath of the gods.

All three derived from escaping the circular logic of religious fatality/determinism and
Epicurianism = your agency is best used to reach your own goals and make your life better. To live free and happy, you must understand what you want and why otherwise you will neither reach it nor enjoy it. Often simplified as "just enjoy life bro xD" when really it is a way to affirm one's control over his own restrain and excess.
Stoicism = your agency is best used to improve yourself through restrain and understanding your real capacity to act and change the world, which should be done through virtue. To live free and happy, you must understand what you can and want to do, the limits of your agency and what is moral. Often simplified as denying all your desires to stay vertuous and circling in inaction.
Cynicism = your agency and freedom should be used to reach virtue, and are not an end of themselves. True freedom for the cynics is full self-reliance, which is best reached through a simpler life and disattaching one's self from superfluous quests and the nefast influence of others.

Utilitarianism

Enchiridion. Seneca's letters. Stoic Paradoxes (Cicero wasn't an actual Stoic though).

Cynicism is not a blackpill.

The actual school of Cynic thought wasn't necessarily blackpill, I guess. But it was fundamental to the development of Stoicism. And as far as "redpill" concepts go, most would have never accepted them if they didn't perceive the bleakness of circumstances first. Many never would have questioned their circumstances without that sense of despair.

Philosophy is for gay dorks. Do something fun like watching GoT instead of reading this old crap.
