Cmon now lads, you let the last thread die. Can't be having that
Nope.
2 dead /eirepol/ threads already, byjesus it's another shoah
I think they're all gone to bed
>Banking/Finance
I'd tell you to study computer science and work your way in lad. Everything's being automated. Anything to do with Machine learning is the future of banking and finance.
>GPA is shit
How many years do you have? Can you pull it round? If your just cool with working in "banking" (i.e. bank manager, day to day, business etc.) I'd tell you to start doing the BFS on the side - its from the Institute of Bankers and UCD -
iob.ie/?q=programme/1213
Most bankers sons get a job in the bank, and do this whilst working. Yes, they are mostly protestants.
You can also become a fully qualified "Tac consultant" and meme yourself into PWC if you are the head of any club at Uni. You can do the entire qualification outside of the job, unlike say accounting.
taxinstitute.ie
I'm still here leaf friends, 10 to 1 and going strong.
For the lad from UCD.
What year are you in? What's your gpa now?
Sure, a 2.1 is only bloody 3.1 gpa now.
Is Business Information Systems a good field to get into if I wanted to work in finance maybe with the stock market, shares etc.?
>Yes, they are mostly protestants.
What's the craic with that?
>Machine learning
I read into this, was going to leave engineering and do a masters in Imperial. It's basically statistics, they play the numbers off against each other. You need to be fucking top in maths to get on this train. The programming part of it is the easy part.
It was, but it's becomming a bit of a meme.
Are you good at maths? Like Higher getting an A1/2? at leaving?
Honestly, banking is meme-tier now. Insurance too. The only way to work in those industries now if to work in "Data Science" which encapsulates everything from being a statistician, to data warehousing at the moment.
If you get good at automating systems programming, machine learning etc. You'll get a job in any industry in the future. Let alone banking.
>That's the craic with that?
Inside track, lad. They invented the game, we're just playing.
>You need to be fucking top in maths
It's literally high level stats and probability, with medium level programming.
>data warehousing at the moment
This. AWS and Hadoop are in big demand.
These are just the only careers people without connections can get in banking, in my experience. As well as earn a lot. In Insurance as well.
Is it the like the freemasons and that? A cabal who help each other out.
Not so great at Maths, if I worked on it I'd probably be good but le intelligent but lazy type.
BIS is still my number 1, what do you think is the best instead of it? Doesn't seem to be many courses on an undergraduate level to cater to the "data science" crowd. I was considering CS but again seems too math heavy. Alternatively I was looking at Cyber Security which seems to be booming. Then again who knows what the world will be like 4 years from now. If you were doing your CAO now what would be your number one choice to make some money in the future?
You leaves are of Irish ancestry, right? Would you ever consider coming to live in Ireland?
Freemasons are alright. They are literally an old lad's hang out for Protestants. I went on the tour in Molesworth street and completely expected to have to fight my way out. The only "Secret" room that I wasn't allowed to see on the tour had kegs outside it.
>Masons/Prods
It's just school connecitons. Nearly everyone at Davys went to Blackrock. A huge amount of the other bankers went to CoI schools. They all just know each other and help each other out. It's much more about class than religion.
First link is in my town.
No, Irish living in Canada
In that case yeah I messed around with programming, I'm good with stats and probability and I'm aware of algorithm trading with python etc.
>algorithm trading with python
whew lad
Ever looking to come home or is home Canada for you now?
>BIS
Wasn't knocking it. There are jobs, and if you enjoy it, you'll be better at it. But most BIS in banking would be attached to risk profiling (i.e. higher rate of mortgage for the lad who uses paddy power on the credit card etc.)
>Cyber Security
There is a huge push for this combined with a company compliance. The EU's data protection act will bring massive fines for companies, especially banks and insurance companies who don't protect peoples data. It's becomming a standard part of of Assurance in the big 4 and Accenture. Could be a great one.
Why would I vote for this shit party, he seems retarded desu
Ah right. I guess there were a lot of memes here you take with a pinch of salt.
Did you go to black rock too or were you not at Davy's?
Canada is good for now and while the money is rolling in. I like it here - I can have my truck and guns too. I won't stay forever here though.
cuck or shitskin?
>If you were doing your CAO now what would be your number one choice to make some money in the future?
Commerce is always good, just for the "prestiege". but something + COMPUTERS is best. If you really want to work in banking etc. I would try to get Economics + Computer Science.
Strangely, Maynooth has one of the best programs at the moment with their economics and financial risk programs. They do a lot of computer modelling.
Anyone else think the national party come across really badly in interviews? I don't think Barrett is the best man for the job (interviews anyway)
Im actually Irish, unlike basically everyone in this thread
>n that case yeah I messed around with programming, I'm good with stats and probability and I'm aware of algorithm trading with python etc.
This would be a hell of a lot more than most. If I was you, I'd try and make a portfolio of things you've tried. projects and trading for the interviews. Most people just bring themselves, it would make you stand out.
Are you in any societies? What year are you in? Try and join any society, or set one up. This is the other secret. They wany captains, plus projects, then grade. I think the Big 4 will even skip your final grade now if you have "leadership" skills.
Who isn't Irish in this thread, aside from the German living in Russia?
>What year are you in?
Final year
>What's your gpa now?
shite. Can still get 2:1 but it'll be hard.
>PWC
Yeah considered big 4 but didn't realise you could qualify for tax on your own.
I'm not dead set on banking or finance anyway, beggars can't be choosers I'l take what I get
>Did you go to black rock too or were you not at Davy's?
Neither. Just worked with the, got to know a lot of them at Uni through societies.
I mean it has more to do with their ideas being retarded and total anathema to the socialist republican tradition that exists in Ireland because we were historically oppressed by right wing British governments.
Appreciated. I just view BIS as a jack of all trades course that could open many doors and when I get my foot into one of the doors, work my way up.
I don't REALLY want to work in banking. I just want to get into a career or a way of life to make some money. I wouldn't mind getting into some sort of business, or even starting/part of a start up or whatever. It's a toss up of either BIS/Cyb Sec/Law/Comm, how would you view Law? Over saturated?
m8 I'm 19 doing the Leaving in a few weeks time lol. Yeah I'll definitely start a github and try to put some shite in that.
>If you were doing your CAO now what would be your number one choice to make some money in the future?
I would recommend Commerce as well just don't be a lazy faggot like me
I am not Irish but as with most Americans we come form snownigger stock.
>>What's your gpa now?
>Can still get 2:1 but it'll be hard
Do it lad. Honestly, it's oblivion otherwise. Work as hard as possible.
>I'm not dead set on banking or finance anyway, beggars can't be choosers I'l take what I get
Is the right answer, but you should do something your interested in or by 30 you'll be depressed and go full fight club mode.
>you could qualify for tax on your own.
Yeah, and you could study it on the side. If you were interested in that, you could just say "I'm enrolled in this already".
One namefag is a halfspic, Spanish Natioanl Bolshevik and Canadian is a half Iberian nigger and Cornish
Do you want Ireland to become Irish again?
Better than the fucking Nigerians we have now
Check out this guy on Youtube, he's what got me started programming. He has dozens of really useful videos.
youtube.com/channel/UCfzlCWGWYyIQ0aLC5w48gBQ
I literally am Irish right now though so no? I dont know your question seems pretty stupid
it makes me sad I really want to visit the isles and UK, but it seems like I would only be disappointed. At least I could maybe catch a Chelsea game.
A lot of "White Americans" in the South are mixed with blacks though. Those with Med/Jew heritage are more distant nigs too
>Law? Over saturated?
Intensely. I know a girl who was the daughter of a judge, and still could only work as a personal injury barrister, even though she had a first from trinity.
>Just want to make money.
Unfortunately, Ireland is heavily skewed in IT/Banking, with a smidgeon of real estate. the only other thing would be the Blue Chip companies.
>m8 I'm 19 doing the Leaving in a few weeks time lol. Yeah I'll definitely start a github and try to put some shite in that.
I've mixed you up with another lad.
Yeah I was actually already subscribed to him lol. I Watch a few of his videos.
It's still good in the rural areas. I'm usually disappointed with Dublin and Belfast but smaller Towns can be good, villages also. It can still be worth it if money isn't a major issue imo.
You are either for the Irish people or against them. Network with your own, help them, drop the info and promote ziological racial consciousness
I have Irish and German for the most part and a little bit French.
Do not feed shills
WTF is ziological racial consciousness. The for or against Irish people who seems like retarded simplification and nonsense pandering.
Literally first time seeing this party, do you not want young Irish supporters or something?
Good for you. For example, Spencer is a coon
Made the wrong reply
KEKISIMO MAXIMUS
Fuck me lad, I'm dying.
Your skills are strong.
Give me that mongrel look. I respect Albanians for killing racemixers and gypsies. Never denied that
What's the alternative? Ireland will die in the years to come if we don't change. They are a very small party but Hitler was able to transform a party of 22 people into the Strongest country in Europe at the time. Voting for FF, FG, labour will just lead us down the same path we are going.
Any parting words regarding BIS? Should I bother?
Cheers my guy.
10/10 post
Looking forward to this.
twitter.com
Their other host 'hates Nazis'
I don't put a lot of stock in Race, I listened to Spencer and it was the most retarded shit I have ever heard.
What do you think of that guy Alex wiens?
He's a bit mad, innihe
I mean I don't know, can you explain some of the goals, ambitions policies of this party.
From my experience Ireland has gotten alot better since we embraced the world, I mean look at how unbelievably shit the country was during the 50s with tariffs, and Im pretty sure Hitler got butraped by the rest of the world and got his country partitioned for 50 years
Sure lad. Especially if you're interested.
But I gotta say, this "covering all your bases" and having a degree that's safe is a major Irish meme. It pays to be as speciailised as fuck. Computer Science is the only one which pays generally. BIS is a function, but you should want to study it because you're interested in it as well. If you just go for it because you think it's broad, you might not end too well in it.
You mind if I ask a final question Sir. Ubermensch, sir? What is a fine "100% Bavarian phenotype" such as yourself doing in Russia? (Do not strawman, answer the question if you are at least a man)
He's a hero. He literally SHUT DOWN the invading anti-native scum
>tfw you can't shit on them, because you don't speak a word of Irish.
>From my experience Ireland has gotten alot better since we embraced the world
The influx of cheap labour greases the wheels for a bit, but now all it does is drive down wages and drive up the cost of housing, force people into homelessness and force natives to emigrate.
The Aussies have it right.
Ah well there's my house of cards come falling down. I mean I'm not terribly interested in the course content as I am with the end result of having the degree. Economics stuff seems like shit I've covered in school, accounting as well, the programming stuff is probably easy. Again, I dunno. Comp Sci might be a better choice but aside from prob and stat my calculus and what not isn't too great. Plus you read these Sup Forums memes about the comp sci nerds working at IT in a company and being treated like shit by the "chads" and "staceys" with their business degrees.
Tax evasion and theatre for the most part. Sometimes I go fishing and hunting with my friends
What is it? Reawakening the biological instinct
Now after that latest endorsement and video I feel like I can openly support the national party. I'm not gonna hide anymore.
Lad, none of us are particularly shilling for the NP. Our concern is that Ireland's indigenous population, and it's culture is being eroded for the purpose of allowing immigrants "to feel good". I personally am against "multiculturalsim' if it is at the degradation of Irish culture. The myth is, Ireland needs immigrants. Fine, but what sort? Should the be doing jobs that we can't do, i.e. Doctors. Or should we be allowing whole families to move to Ireland so they can open a curry restaurant?
>Embraced the world
Can you give me of a specific example where we hadn't done this? The 50s are nearly 70 years ago. Ireland was pretty dope in 2000 as well.
I honestly have never heard of ziological consciousness, can you explain it?
Check their page for their points.
The Hitler thing would take hours to go into on whether he was wrong, but that's not the point and we can't talk about that ever in public. The point is Hitler took a small party and brought it up to be very powerful. Yes life in Ireland is better but that is not because of diversity. Diversity will kill Ireland. Look at the projected demographics for Ireland, we'll be dying out. We have better times in Ireland now, but this crazy leftism is creating a decadent society where the native people will no longer be majority
>tax evasion
So you're a nigger?
>Plus you read these Sup Forums memes about the comp sci nerds working at IT in a company and being treated like shit by the "chads" and "staceys" with their business degrees.
I do this constantly to it people. However, I'll be sacked before they are. If you think Economics is easy, then do it. Just know you need to get a strong first in economics to get a good job now a days. Vs. a 2.1 in Comp Sci.
Have you considered Commerce in UCD? It's very good, and has a good it component.
First time even looking at the Commerce in UCD now, yeah it looks very good. Sadly it's a bit out of my points range and I'm not even sure I'd get the 03(70-80%) in ordinary maths as I've completely neglected it.
I mean before the 60s and Lemass we were basically a third world country, with our people like our cattle being brought up for export. Since then living standards have risen massively, directly because of our embracing of institutions such as the EU. The early 2000 were the surplus that we achieved by modernising and probably the time of the greatest net migration in Ireland's history, or is this just a bulshit narrative. If it is can you point out what the flaws with this world view. Im kinda on the fence about the whole thing.
As for the specific example of embracing the world Dev's autarky and self sufficiency policies of the 1930s and the maidan at the cross roads were seen as a particularly inword looking time.
immigration not migration
join discord.gg
desu everyone should join discord.gg
I know people who've done well out of accounting and finance in DIT. They've found their way into the Big 4.
What points range are you looking at?
Mid 400's
>I'm wrecked, so sorry if this is steam of conciousness.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with being an open to trade, pro export economy. This seems to be your concern?
No one has said otherwise here. I, personally, have no problem with even EU immigration(but most here do).
But non-EU immigration, is unnecessary. The EU immigrants we have who are "low-skilled" have only brought down wages for Irish people. The Euro allowed for a huge expansion in a credit bubble in Ireland, and if it were to collapse there is no evidence Ireland would be worse of (i.e. there would be no Euro vs. Ireland outside of the euro). And what's worse, the bailout can still not be explained in Ireland. This by our EU partners and friends.
We are much more interested in the cultural aspect of immigration, considering is another plantation. We believe that Ireland should serve the Irish people first. None of us really shill for the NP, but a lot of us may give tacit support if they say the right things.
If you go to Switzerland, or Singapore, these are some of the most open economies in the World. Yet, they have some of the strictest immigration policies, and focus on their national interest first. My hope is that Ireland would be much more like Switzerland,Denmark, and Norway. The later two countries have moved decisively to the right, and have even started stripping false asylum seekers of passports 20 years after they were granted.
What do you want to get into and what are your marks like?
Right lads, I'm knackered.
Great chat as always.
My internets being fuckery so different ID's. Fairly sure there's only 1 leaving cert lad posting in this thread asking for advice, so see above. Basically I want to get a job that makes me money. Anything IT, finance, economics, business ish I suppose.
Does your job allow you late nights on Sup Forums?
Thanks for the all the advice.
You in Commerce atm ?
Not at fucking all. I am an insomniac. If I wasn't on pol I'd be bingewatching some shite.
I actually am flying to Dublin tomorrow morning, and am not looking forward to it (the flight).
What about stuff like our hospitals and such, which rely overwhelmingly on non-eu immigrants to function. I tend to blame FF for the bubble and its bursting then the euro, but that was obviously a significant part in the whole crisis, fundamentally I think I just admire the socialist solidarity of our revolutionary leaders and dont think immigration is the main obstacle to returning to a gaelic Ireland, I think it has more to do with lack of political will. What if the interests of the majority of the Irish people are best served by allowing relatively free migration?
If you were doing your CAO now what would be your number one choice
Throw it in the bin, college is a meme.
So forget about college and get a job? Any recommendations?
If you pay taxes to the system that genocides you, you are a traitor
You will understand one day. It's in your blood
It's getting big?
>hope is that Ireland would be much more like Switzerland,Denmark, and Norway. The later two countries have moved decisively to the right, and have even started stripping false asylum seekers of passports 20 years after they were granted.
You had no idea how the Swiss nationality works and dared to post about it. Quit Sup Forums altogherer
