Why is reddit so hated here? I know it's a circle-jerking site at its core, however I still think certain subreddits could be allies of Sup Forums (and some already consider themselves as such).
I feel like this whole hatred of reddit stems from the days of Sup Forums vs reddit feuds and raids, which is just childish if it is indeed the reason. I'm not saying we're supposed to like them, but why so much hatred even for the parts of reddit that align with Sup Forums views?

And yes its group mentality, it happens on reddit far quicker because of the voting system, but some opinionsin certain subreddits are more or less unpopular in others. I can post something along the lines of "fuck the Tories" on r/UK and they would love it mindlessly, but on r/ukpolitics they would hate it mindlessly, Both as an unthinking blob of people reacting within the group think. In Sup Forums if your veiws don't match the majority of a board and you still post, your ideas will either change to fit the norm or you will leave to another board.
It's why you don't visit certain boards and visit others. It's a confirmation bias. Both sites are guilty of it and both are echo chambers.

on reddit i agree yes due to the moderation of comments and them being deleted because they dont fit in with xyz topic or culture of the sub but on here you can still have opinions and discussions on either side of a topic unless your acting like a fucking idiot about it. yeah sure people will shitpost and attack you from time to time but its a far cry calling this site and all its boards and echo chamber equal to reddit
It's because each sub has user moderators that basically police their little safe spaces. It's all part of the consensus culture of reddit. There is no debate, either conform or get harpooned and hunted down across all boards.
Also the barriers to entry for new accounts are near zero, while there is strong incentive for people to build up and preserve their posting personas. It's a very odd dynamic that has immediately noticeable results in the style of posting that people do on reddit.
Most of it is hyperbole, user. Don't take most of the anti-reddit posts (especially in reply to your thread) that seriously. Some of it is annoying, but there are other good elements of it.
Take what these anons say with a grain of salt, at the very least. Don't feel guilty if you enjoy certain subreddits, I'm sure 95% of us do
