Serbanon explained it in detail with background story but in a shorter form, during Tito's time Albanians were moving to Kosovo for this or that reason and as they bred a lot faster than Serbs (muslims being muslims) they outnumbered native Serb population, combined with 1999 - present violence and hostilities against Serbs caused Serbs to leave Kosovo, leaving it to Albanians.
There is like 300k Serbs at most in Kosovo today (out of ~ 1.8M people there), majority of them located in 3 northern municipalities bordering Serbia. Rest of Kosovo is lost cause, and Albanians are doing their best to erase serbian cultural heritage there, so in 100 years they can claim Kosovo was their since beginning of time, exactly the same like what is Israel doing in West Bank
