So called modern architecture is denying you your heritage.

Sorry, wrong image.
Fucking W.A.B., why aren't there any mainstream artists like him anymore...?!
Any trace of culture will be erased.
You guys drink Budweiser?
Compare to this.

I love john William godward, totally under rated as an artist. His realism and subject matter of classical antiquity were very unfashionable when Picasso hit the art scene. Poor dude killed himself and apparently put in his suicide not that there wasn't enough room for him and a Picasso in the world.

That's in New York, but yes, there has even been a Bud Light campaign in London for the past few months. I am American and it makes me cringe.

John William Waterhouse is my absolute favourite.

But there is hope.

The best of the lot.
Godward really catches the beauty of femininity. Makes me want to kill myself too when I think of the state of women today.

The Pre Raphaelites were the best. I saw this masterpiece in person a few weeks ago in the artist's house. The painting is owned by a Costa Rican now.

I hadn't seen that one before, pretty incredible. I'd love to see this stuff in person.

I just love paintings that have a story to tell. Hell, those are the only paintings I love.
I hate what (((art))) has become nowadays.

(((modern art))) is pretty depressing
You've triggered me.
That makes me sad.
...
It's not just the art itself, it's that people go on and on about how great it is.

And the fact that modern art is still seen as avant garde even though it has been the establishment for most of the last century. People think art needs to be edgy and modernist and artists use it as a crutch. There has been no progress in the last 50 years. Art schools serve only to inflate the ego instead of teaching technique and educating about history, etc.

Do you know who this is
Death of Siward

This is even better when one knows who is depicted. It is not only a masterpiece of painting, it is a monument to Western thought and civilisation.

If it helps everyone is moving towards animu and looping back into fairly detailed landscapes with the usual fan name being "epic X". Your mileage may vary of course.
That man had his priorities set straight.

Some real beautiful artworks here. I was gonna shit post some debased modern art like Damian hurst or some shit but let's keep going
Theodore Kittelsen was a Norwegian artist who drew weird as fuck drawings of trolls and mythical beasts and people etc. Might recognize some of his work from Burzum albums.
Btw, the construction works started last week
I don't like this one leaf.
