Protectionism, little freedom of enterprise, horrible amounts of red tape that basically means you have to pay hundreds or even thousands for the privilege of being ALLOWED to work...

Our laws are designed to make the maximum possible number of people be unemployed, either because they cannot find a job or just opt out of it.

Well Croatia had a Serbian minority which is literally worse than having gypsies in your country. Either way they ran away when equally armed men started to fight back.

Now the scars of war and Communism is starting to fade away but there is a long way to go. Problem is if we don't do it quickly enough then emigration will make the country even more irrelevant.

Also Slovenia isn't poor.
