Huge misunderstanding on this issue. The polish were carrying out a series of pogroms aimed at ethnic Germans in the Danzig region, a region that had been given to Poland under the Treaty of Versailles but that had many ethnic Germans in it.
Things got so bad, that you had ethnic Germans fleeing over the border into Germany by the thousands (it was an actual refugee crisis). But the pogroms continued, and ultimately took the lives of about 100,000 Germans. Faced with a very difficult decision, Hitler commanded his armies to move into the Danzig region in order to stop the genocide from occuring. If they had not done it earlier, probably much more than 100k would have lost their lives.

Because the article in Versailles was supposed to make Germany accept Polish sovereignty. It was pretty much there to discourage Germany from attacking Poland. It was not a complete guarantee of Polish independence. The treaty focused on Germany, seeing that every country had to sign a respective treaty after WW1, it makes sense that Versailles mostly concerns Germany.

Stalingrad happened coz he told his armies to hold ground and then attack. If he had listen his generals they would have retreated, let the soviet attack, stretch their lines and then encircle them. They had the Soviet Union if Htiler had let their excellent Generals do their job. If the S. Union had fallen then everything would be over. Germany would had plenty of time to build up against Britain (and 99% the would ask for peace).
Well my understanding is that Hitler belived German people were being mistreated in Danzig which was German land annexed from them. So after Poland refused to give back the land or let the German people leave or w.e, Hitler said fuck it and fucked up Poland. Okay, here's why.
Russia would have attacked Germany sooner or later. This would have included the Russian invasion of Romania.. The loss of the Romanian oilfields would have deprived Germany of their sole source of oil = no fuel for industry, tanks, planes = Germany loses.
Russia was only getting stronger, waiting therefore gave only the advantage to Russia.
Hitler correctly saw that the only way to win was to attack first while Germany was still relatively strong in relation to Russia. Relative is the key word here. Overall they were still much weaker, but waiting any longer would see the balance of the power swing even further towards Russia's advantage.
In hindsight, taking into account the economic forces at work, Germany never stood a chance. Forget about stuff like not taking Moscow an Leningrad in 1941, losing the 6th army at Stalingrad, not attacking at Kursk earlier, an then all the other errors credited to Hitler, It makes little difference other than altering the length of the war by a year at most. The Germans were simply outnumbered and out produced by a foe who had ample natural resources and a massive country which could absorb an initial attack.

As an analogy, imagine a hypothetical situation where a militant Canada gears up for war an attacks an unsuspecting peacetime USA.. Sure the Canadians might make some early gains, taking huge areas of USA territory, capture many important cities, wipe out a large proportion of the existing peacetime American armies, but realistically they don't stand a chance. The USA is just too big, its population, manpower and industrial strength dwarfs Canada's. The USA can absorb such losses, mobilizes, goes onto a war footing, and then crunches Canada.
