The only reason California has any measure of success today is because of the industry the current generation inherited from decades past. This will slowly disappear over time as the presence of an industry does not guarantee the presence of said industry in perpetuity. If you abuse your industries, plunder your industries, and hamstring your industries, more leave and fewer replace them.
