Not likely. THAAD can launch over NK and into the sea. It covers any suborbital launch. Aegis and the fighter wing covers anything within the atmosphere. Finally our anti-sub warfare is the most technologically advanced in the world. Anything surface or underwater is fucked. Every carrier group includes multiple anti-sub layers of defense including several attack submarines patrolling underneath the thermocline.
Our carrier groups are the greatest concentration of pure force on the planet. It was estimated that each had the entire military force of France. We have only gotten better. And we have 11 of the bitches.

Despite what propaganda tells you, the North Koreans aren't crazy or stupid enough to actually strike first and give the U.S. a good reason.
China may be sick of North Korea, but can't risk the possibility of nuclear war right on it's doorstep to get rid of the problem, and leaving it alone like it has been doing is its only real choice. So it will continue to do nothing but make a weak posture of not supporting North Korea.
This unease will pass in a few weeks with either nothing happening or else a secret deal, which North Korea will break.
