A lot of people on western society are plugged into the matrix figuritiely. There is a reason we use the terms red and blue pill. When people start to read things that challenge the agreed narrative (matrix) they get a subconscious uncomfortable feeling. So people just try and streer the discourse away and plug the people back into the matrix with them so they can be happy again.
