I debrief my 2 nephews everyday after they get home from school. The amount of bullshit schools are pushing on kids behind the parents back is amazing.
I hit a boiling point a few weeks ago when they came home telling me about the special class they had where they ate bugs. They were told eating bugs & worms was going to be the food of the future replacing hamburgers. This happened in 3rd & 5th grade classes.

My niece is 2 now, luckily my little brother is a crew chief in the air force so doesn't put up with bs. I have been talking to him about homeschooling unless the system gets fixed. There are some online schools, molymeme has a guest on every now and then that runs a k-12 school online that sounds good but I haven't looked into it that deep yet.
