What is the most iconic Russian plane?

What is the most iconic Russian plane?

I'm building a model kit every weekend and want a plane to represent each country that's going to be involved in WWIII.

I've got
North Korea
>F-5
USA
>A-10 Warthog
Russia
>su-27
That's all I got so far.

Feel free to suggest alternatives, or other country's planes.

Go for double seat SU-30SM...they'r way cooler...we're getting them next year

Russia - IL-2 Sturmovik
USA - F-15 Eagle
Britain - Supermarine Spitfire
Germany - Ju-87 Stuka

dont forget Chinese J-31

Iconic. Not WW3 planes obviously... didn't read.

An-2.

forgot pic, this beauty will challenge F-35

Su-27 is gradually replaced by Su-30SM and Su-35, so not much of them is going to be around by 2020s. Su-35 looks pretty much the same as Su-27 though.

Russia is either MiG 29 or Tu 95 imho

Mig-21, probably.
Thing's ugly as sin but instantly recognizable.
Also, the Norks got F-5s? Ain't it a South Korean thing?

>External weapons hard points.

>RCS multiplies by 10

>challenge F-35...

Even forgetting or ignoring avionics and 5th Gen combat information sharing... Yeah, no.

Czech Republic: L-159 Alca

IIRC, there is exactly two MiG-29 fighter regiments left and one of them using MiG-29SMT, initially intended for Algeria. There is some Navy carrier fighters MiG-29K and order for MiG-35, but fact remains the same: there is not much of MiG-29s in service anymore. Flankers, Flankers everywhere.

nobody knows that, not even the czechs...L-39 on the other hand sure...

Think OP was asking for any iconic planes.
I'm sure Russia is Flanker central nowadays, but I personally find the Mig-21 more iconic. I see one and instantly think of Russia, even though it's mostly used by other countries and in relevance to the thread, by North Korea even nowadays.

>>External weapons hard points

you were saying something bro?

> but I personally find the Mig-21 more iconic
I agree with that, but OP is also talking about WWIII scenario. And all MiG-21 in RuAF was put out of commission in 1990s.

I guess it depends on your generation then, but for me the 29 is the most iconic Russian fighter jet.
Tu 95 is the most iconic plane though, easily. There are pictures of Tu 95-s being escorted by several generations of planes, from F4-s to F22-s

Since when does nk have and use the f_5 ?

>What is the most iconic Russian plane?

Su-25 In my opinion

Mig-29!

>>A-10 Warthog
it's outdated

you can do as i did and have TWO (2) planes for each country , so for us I have F-15/F-18 and for russia i have Su-27/Mig-31

>picture repost here

Su-25 were made in Georgia, so they aren't pure Russian plane

Since Top Gun.

F-16

America
>B-52
Russia
>Tu-95

MiG-29.

That's an F-22 you retard.

'Merican Education YES !

Unironically, the future is looking pretty homogenized in terms of aircraft designs

USA F35
Britain F35
Germany F35
France Rafale
Canada Rafale

Others that will still be around for ww3

F16 Ubiquitous, will serve all over the world even after the USA removes it from service
F15
Tornado
And because euros can't get enough of their Dorito planes.
Saab Gripen
Eurofighter Typhoon

Su-35 Flanker E
Su-25 Frogfoot
Mig-25 Foxbat

...

>Canada Rafale

What?

B-29 Superfortress

Canada aint replacing their F/A-18 anytime soon, even if they did it wouldnt be Rafale

I always had a soft spot for the DeHavilland Mosquito from Britain

STOP EDITING THE NAMES OF THE PICTURES

this one

I know Slovenia shot one down during the Gulf War, but the F-117 Nighthawk is still pretty cool looking.

that's a big plane

The Canadian CF- 00001 Tolerance Gunship

4 U

Why A-10? I'd say F-15 or Thunderbolt.

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE THAT'S A B-2 BOMBER

I would say the MiG-15 is the most iconic. It fucked up the USAF over Korea until the F-86 came on scene.

REEEEEEEEE IT WAS THE SERBS NOT SLOVENIA

SR-72 black project

Idiot, this is the B-2.

See it dropping a JDAMs?

f22 raptor

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dassault_Rafale#Canada

>11 pieces

What kind of babby tier kit is this?

Relax dude he's just 'wannabe aussie' shitposter

>1:144 scale
It's a model for ants

This one, cykoi

Largest aircraft in the world.
AN-225

and with everything said and done, Canada will go for F/A-18 MLU instead

Tu-160

it is french

For me the most iconic Soviet plane is the MiG-25, just because it's so balls-out crazy. It was built to hunt America's supersonic heavy bomber that never got built. Still never could catch the SR-71, though.

>All resin
The type with barely any detail and parts you have to scratch build or buy aftermarket. This type of kit is usually short run for experienced modelers who want to build something that mainstream kit companies don't produce.

MiG-21 without a doubt.
The simple, rugged AKM of jet fighters and the most produced supersonic aircraft in history.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mikoyan-Gurevich_MiG-21

Good lord

ctrl-f harrier

what was the bomber that russia was fielding during the early reforger exercises? su 25?

it was a workhorse, like the f-111 or f-4

Good one, have a (You)

REEEEEEEEEEE THAT'S A GBU-28 NOT A JDAM AND YOU KNOW THAT'S AN F117.

STOP THIS.

DELET THIS.

The Surcouf, our submarine aircraft launcher is operational again?

It's not like they're ever going to fight each other though is it.

>not MiG-17, or as the USAF called it, "Holy shit what the fuck was that"

ASE POAST ^^

We can't forget the awesome Top Gun F-14 Alleycat.

That's a Pidorashka trying to arsefindle and deny Katsapen Armee failures. It's one they sunk from Coal Burner boat.

Funny thing is, we shot b2 also but it managed to reach macedonia, barely

>s*rbs
>shot THOUSANDS of stealth bomber

>F-14

America must build is the F-14A tomcat.

...

All last wars were about bombers and assault planes, not fighters. That's why you should go for Su-25. Those little beasts deserve to be respected.

This, but bf109 for Germany

Oh! I forgot the payload of the F-5 Tigershark!

the MiG-15,17 and F-86,100 were all more or less just slight evolutions of WW2 era tech and were all heavily influenced by German designs since they'd been leading the field. The second gens is when the USA and Russia really began thinking in their own doctrines, and designing accordingly. The 15 and 17 were certainly revolution for air combat, but neither of them had anything like the impact, longevity or identity of the 21. If you ask a little kid to draw a jet fighter, even in the west what he draws is gonna look more like a MiG-21 than any other aircraft.

NO NO NO NO NO THAT IS AN F15. WE KNOW IT'S AN F-15 BECAUSE IT LITERALLY SAYS "AF" ON THE TAIL, AS IN AIR FORCE. THE AIR FORCE NEVER USED THE F-14. STOP THIS MADNESS.

REEEEEEEEE

BEST BIRD

Definitely not the most known but i love it to death.

AND THE F-14 IS NOT AN ALLEYCAT. IT IS A TOMCAT. FFS.

THIS IS NOT AN F5! THIS IS AN F4 PHANTOM.

AND THE F-20 IS THE TIGERSHARK.

YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE.

REEEEEEEEE

F-111 Armadillos had those cool moving wings like the planes in Robotech.

The iconic supermarine spitfire

Take a shit and put it on a pedestal with a sign saying F35 and you're covered for Denmark.

BF 109 G10

I always thought that was lame as a kid.

Pic related is best Cold War Propaganda Ruskie Plane

Pic related is by far the most iconic ruskie plane.

Tho
>Russia
>Involved in WW3

That's a nice meme.

The navy ripped off the Armadillo with their F-15 Falcon.

hey man we're all friends here

Su-25 were developed in Russian part of USSR. There was a factory in Georgia that produced Su-25, but other factory was in Ulan-Ude, Russia.

If a duck was an Eastern European prostitute it would look like that.

Junkers Ju 86 Stuka G2

That's a F-14, *not* a F-111 "Aardvark".
You fucked it up twice !!

Now you're just trolling.

Russiaboos DO NOT WANT that because of existence of pics

...

MIG-29 obviously
