Alright motherfuckers, Syrian OP from yesterday's AMA, you all wanted to hear about my small encounter with ISIS, so here it is.
DISCLAIMER: this has been written in a very stephen king-ey kinda way to make it much much scarier than it actually was, the events are all true, just not as scary as i put them, with that said, lets dive in.
This happened in late 2014. I'd lived in Jordan for a year after fleeing the war. i couldn't bear living in Jordan with the obscene high cost of living and the horrible treatment of Syrians we got. So we decided to go back, better die from an airstrike than die of hunger, right?
The main roads were controlled by the SAA so we couldn't take those, instead we had to take an extremely long route around that, little did we know, isis had taken over that route.
We took a turn that was supposed to lead us to Damascus, there was no asphalt anymore, just scooped up sand that gave the shape of a road so we know where to go. there were a handful of small rooms made of blocks that were meant for the soldiers to stay in i'd assume.
By that time we had no idea isis was going to be there, so we just kept driving, then 4 soldiers came out of these small rooms, 2 in front of our car, 2 in the back, and we heard them load their magazines on their ak-47s, they all had masks on, wearing all black, black shirts, black pants, and black masks. and pointing their weapons at the car, we wanted to look back to see if the soldiers looked all the same but, we were too scared.
then one man, a big, pale, tall man, dressed in all black as well, but no mask, rather a very large beard and a shaved mustache came to us from the rightside of our car, i was sitting in the front seat, so from my side. (rest in the comments)
