This depends on where you live in the US. Where I am there's a high Asian population, and I'd say even a large portion of the white population has adopted some form of taking their shoes off before walking around the house.

I know an elderly woman who broke her back recently and got a back brace on Medicare. She accidentally got sent a bill showing the price for that back brace. They were charging $3,000 for something that should probably cost about $100.
Why? Because they have a system of charging that to the insurance companies, getting denied, and then taking it as a tax break is the way I believe they described it. In other words, they get way more for these things than they should and it comes out of taxpayer pockets. Your "free" healthcare is probably insanely expensive.
If you actually pay taxes, that is.

With our education system, with the way universities are being run now I'm starting to think they should have to pay us to go into those cesspools of liberalism.

I presume you live either in the southern half if the states or California. In Illinois, Wisconsin, and pretty much any state with moderately warm summers and yearly snowfall/subzero temperatures, the roads tend to expand and contract enough throughout the year that after one year, a newly paved road has cracks galore, and after two, potholes become frequent. Thus, everywhere is always undergoing road repairs.
