Should I go for the meme and join the army? I really want to visit another country and learn new skills, but I can't imagine another way of making something of myself.
I think it's my best option.
What do you think about the army?

its not worth it, trust me

Good goy.

Join the Navy or Air Force instead

yes. just dont be a POG.

it will give you a chance to remove kebab and if you survive it will open career doors for you

stay in as along as you can, try to make retirement, then try to get a GS job to stack on that pay.

t. richfag that got rich thanks to uncle sam

It's not a bad gig honestly. Don't go Infantry. Made that mistake and ended up in a leg unit in Kansas. That's some bullshit.

get a trade from them. Electronics, engineering, driving or operating large logistics. Hell if you have the brains, pilot. Under no circumstances be a grunt.

I was a grunt and it mostly sucked but it was 100% worth it. Glad I wasn't a pog. Its the best way to break you out of the neet life.

I really hope to be able to visit europe, that alone would make it worth it.
I want to join as an Electrical engineer of some type, because I already have a little experience with electrical work.
All things said, I really just want to get out of my deplorable town. There are next to no good opportunities here without giving an amount of your life away equal to or greater than that of the army, at least from what I've observed.

...

>pog shit

Just go to school if you want to drive a desk for five years.

whats afghanistan like these days?

I was in the Navy for five years and never left the states. You have little choice when it comes to location until you've been in awhile or deploy a lot. It was worth it, just don't believe all the hype. You are there to serve them, they aren't there to serve you.

>world seems on the brink of something
>want to join the army so I'm on the ground floor if the Norks decide to get frisky
>realize there's a very good chance nothing will happen and it'll be another decade of low-intensity proxy wars and minor bombing campaigns
>tfw spending the entire time in a shitty base in Latvia
>tfw missed the GWOT

Is you?

What does Sup Forums think of the French Foreign Legion?

>american
>thinks the only way to visit other countries is by joining the army

They don't like to let soft Americans in, you're in really shitty training programs, you're likely to get assraped by a Russian, and if you accept French citizenship you lose your American citizenship.

Pros: you get to hang out in Africa a lot.

I know it's not the only way, but consider the fact that I have no job, skills, or money. I'm not sure what else to do. What would you suggest?

go die for israel goy

My dad worked in the State Department for a couple years. I was in India, South Africa, Italy and Guatemala.

The only way I want to leave America again is in the armed forces. The rest of the world can get fucked otherwise.

They look better than America
>Don't die for (((allies)))
>Meet people from around the world
>Go to a lot of cool places
>stronk training programs

I have nothing against the FFL, they do some hard shit. I would just never join a military for any country besides my own, unless the FFL was doing something legitimately important that America refused to get involved in.

While I am considering doing some form of military service (not OP), I'm not going to lay down my life for Super-PAC Katzenstein's senate bill.

the fuck will Infantryman mos get you in the real world once you get out? Bouncer? security guard at walmart? latrine digger?

yeah do it, it's cool. my advice is hold out for the job you like, don't sign a contract for a shitty one or one that you don't understand. Also, if you aren't being promoted on time, just get out because that means they are going to burn you out and kick you out when you are no longer useful.

Joining the military for job experience is usually a losing bet. They aren't trying to give you an education, they want you to work for them. You're better off doing something that interests you for four years, then taking the GI bill and going to school for something that interests you when you're out again.

Unless you legitimately want to be an air traffic controller when you're done, don't sign up for it.

>kill for Macron
>die for Macron

America is built on a collection of a bunch of assholes' stupid decisions built up over 250 years. I'm willing to fight for that process.
