It's frightening how absolutist the narrative is that we cannot be nations, a nation is too weak to possibly go it's own way without the big unions fucking them.

London as a successful international financial centre predates the establishment of the EU.

The EU has tried to create its own mirror of London in Frankfurt and nobody was interested basically because London has far more to offer as a package than any other European city.

Until an EU capital emulates London's cultural capacity, financial clout and doesn't tax those to death who come here for relatively short periods to earn money then it will not be replaced.

Sure, there will be a price for trading in London once BRexit is complete and that price will be paid for by EU customers, not the London based banks themselves.

The numbers flowing out of the London banking community to places like Paris, Geneva, Zurich and Frankfurt are a trickle compared to the size of the London market and proportionally no different from the numbers back in the 1980's.
