It kind of makes sense. Plagues tend to kill off the poorest, and the poorest are usually the people with the poorest IQ, so a plague killing of large numbers of the population leaves you with a higher IQ population, which tends to give you a better society. Good for the environment too!

Ebola is actually a pretty meme-tier disease. Sure, it has a pretty dismal survival rate in africa, but as long as you can stay hydrated your chance of survival goes WAY up, and the only real infection path is body fluid contact. That's the same infection pathway as AIDS, roughly speaking. A little easier, but not much.

You don't need an antiretroviral or anything else to get better, either. You just need to stay alive long enough for your body to make antibodies, because the virus doesn't hurt your immune system.

The ebola virus evolved to remain as transparent to the host as possible, and that's basically its whole function. Problem is, by the time our bodies notice it it's fucking everywhere, and our bodies go nuts trying to kill it all at once. Swelling everywhere, cytokinesis, fevers, etc. If you can live through that you eventually cure yourself.

Not likely. The ebola virus is absolutely MASSIVE when compared to, say, influenza. This makes it very difficult to become airborne, and it would behave fundamentally differently when airborne.

As I tried to highlight in my last post, though, ebola isn't a "super deadly killer" virus. The various flu viruses are much better at that, especially via pneumonia. The thing that kills you with ebola is your own bodily reactions, not really the virus itself.
