I haven't seen a thread like this on Sup Forums before, but since I have started going through the process of converting to Orthodox Christianity I've learned many things. Most relevant to Sup Forums I learned this today; Turkey will be completely wiped out in our lifetime. It has been prophesied in the 90s that Turkey will attack Greece, and Russia will in turn attack Turkey. The end result will be Turkey split into 3 parts. First part will be Russian, second part will be utterly destoryed, and the third will be Greek (Constantinople).

Other prophecies go on to say the US will attack Russia (specifically for Israel), but they will be BTFO.

It all starts when Greece is very poor (like right now) and Turkey is arrogant (like right now) and takes advantage of this weakness. Turkey is due for divine justice for not repenting or even acknowledging the Armenian Genocide.

Ich bin selbst Orthodox und weiss daher dass Konversionen in nicht Orthodoxen Ländern generell nicht gern gesehen werden (also von der Orthodoxen Kirche selbst), weil Familienmitglieder damit oft ein Problem haben (du siehst ja die Reaktion deiner Landsleute hier), daher die persönliche Frage:

Hast du das mit deiner Familie besprochen? Ich möchte dir das nicht ausreden, versteh mich nicht falsch.
Aber in Anbetracht der Tatsache (zumindest für die religiösen unter uns), dass es sowieso keine Hölle/Himmel gibt und alle nach dem Tode zu Gott zurückkehren (diejenigen die einen verdorbenen Charakter haben werden das im Gegensatz zu den Gerechten nicht mögen) ist es eher vorzuziehen eine gute Familie aufzubauen und gute Verhältnisse zueinander als Katholik oder Protestant, als sich von nahen Familienangehörigen zu entfremden.

Der ständige Versuch sich gegenseitig zu konvertieren (Religion als Machtinstrument) hat leider zu sehr viel unnötigem Blutvergießen geführt.

Thank you for your concern. I haven't told my family at all. They are mostly just "Christian" and never go to church, so I doubt they'll understand. I'll assume you're living in Vienna since 8% of the population there is Orthodox (very large).
