God I've hated her for years, I can't think of a more simple minded leader who doesn't know what the hell is good for her people. Look no further than her immigration act, but you can really dig into her bad decisions a decade ago and within it.

Mixed feelings. On the one hand, she often appears to be the only sane person in the west, on the other hand some of her policies are downright suicidal for germany? Let in the refuges? Let a well armed 45 million pepople nation collapse on her borders, all to stick it to Russia? Let the EU bureaucrats run wild and alienate UK and others? Why?

And yet many her policies aimed at internal german issues seem quite effective, so she will remain.

She is an excellent politician on foreign policy even when I don't agree with her stance on most of them. I have to admit that she knows how to handle foreign politicians: She made Obama cower, made Trump look stupid keeps the EU in check and has established excellent relations to China at few costs (she doesn't invite the Dalai Lama anymore).
But she has no fucking position on any domestic policies. She just does what seems popular at the moment. Only on economic policies she is pretty liberal consistently.
I don't think she will switch positions towards ethnonationalism but that's only halfway her decision. Germans just don't demand them loudly.
