Prussia is bad though,
Prussian schooling concepts, particularly the "volkschule" taught obedience to the state instead of actual education (they weren't taught to read, or science, because reading/critical thinking opens up windows to other worlds, and Prussia being a socialist state couldn't allow this), ended up influencing too many foreign countries educational models in a bad way.

Its the reason we have compulsory education in the US today.

Originally a small territory with a well organized military that eventually made enough gains to become the leading German state. Bismarck used it to unite the rest of the German states against France in 1871 and formed the German empire after beating them in a war.

It remained like that until WWII when it was destroyed by commie fags and turned into a predictably characterless soviet puppet state. Pic related is Konigsberg, the Prussian capital, today.

There are only poles and balts where there used to be prussians, it's pretty much the concept of a dead nation.
Also germans have never lost so much land than under prussian domination, it's textbook example of failed imperialism.

Looked up Konigsberg, it's in the itty bitty part of Russia that's surrounded by other countries. Prussia's borders looks like they've been changed a bunch of times.

It's a little confusing especially since the old language of Prussia was German and now in those same areas it's Polish, Russian, Lithuanian, etc. Makes me wonder what happened to the commoners that lived in Prussia. Did they assimilate to their new countries with new official languages? Did they move to Germany? I know these sound like stupid benign questions but empires that span multiple current countries like this always makes me curious about languages.

They got all kicked out after WW2, 12 millions germans were pushed into exodus, in part because they were the naziest of the nazis.

On my father's side and on my mother's side my roots are in East Prussia, Ortelsburg. We still have relatives in Szczytno today, who used to be on the Polish side.

The old prussians weren't german.

"Königsberg" wasn't really originally German either, it was called Tvankste before that. Actual Königsberg was then founded in 1255 by the Teutonic Order during their crusades in the Baltics against European pagans. They burned Tvankste to the ground and killed the pagan population.
Those old Prussians were basically just slavs until the Teutonic Knights wiped them out and then repopulated the area with Germans. That became the Prussia we're talking about when the Teutonic lads were finally beaten in 1466 .

Almost correct. There were many German settlers aswell, but the Slav thing is true though. I live in the Ruhrgebiet, where many have fled after ww2, and every Prussian offspring I know has a Slavic surname.

Most are assimilated Slavs, but you ll find these people in Brandenburg aswell.
