Nothing wrong with being born into wealth, play the hand you're dealt. I was born poor and I don't see how that's a valid reason to hate on him, then again I'm Swedish and poverty isn't much of a thing here.

In any case, he got his wealth writing top-sellers and producing other original content, independent of his good start in life. It's not like he took his fortune and invested in a bull-market and is bragging about how rich he is.

I don't get why Jordan folded so hard in that discussion. Why did he beg to tell a fucking 5 hour story of Cain that had no point? Usually he's good at telling a story while simultaneously adding why the story is important, the moral values and so on, but to Harris he just flat out told the story and went "Isn't it amazing? Praise Jesus" basically. I don't get it.

I agree with Petersons main point, which I THINK is that we need solid moral guidelines to have happy lives and pleasant societies (and science is science, it's not moral), and that possibly ancient moral frameworks are basically sound since they have evolved naturally through human existence, and that we can't just uproot them... but he fucking fails in this discussion.

If you're an autist who's too intelligent to even entertain the idea that anything's about the world or ourselves is beyond your/our current grasp, he's the man. On the other hand, if you don't like people giving you (supposedly) exhaustive answers on questions we collectively don't have the answers for, he's going to sound like an obtuse, walking encyclopedia of recycled ideas with a condescending NPR-tier voice.

That being said, he is anti Islam, anti regressive left, and he has recently pushed into human biodiversity, so that's good. He's probably a net positive for the growth of right wing nationalism, despite being a devoted globalist.

I haven't heard heard anyone else speak in that mellow, monotone voice like that. Feel free to point me to someone else who does, I've starting listening to his stuff because it puts me to sleep, literally cured whatever sleep problems I had (laying up for 6 hours straight at times etc, used to happen quite frequently). Works better than ASMR, probably because I'm forced to listen attentively.
