The only 'functional' multicultural society I havr ever experienced and know of was the Marine infantry. And even then, it was mostly white dudes from the backwoods, mexican manlets that didn't want to get into gangbanging, and the token (actually competent) black guy that was probably a serial killer in Chicago prior to enlistment.

This only worked because as a group we rountinely experienced hardships like excessive physical training sessions, routine beatings, starvation, and forced to work as a cohesive unit during complex field exercises. Once that was done we then were turned loose on a common enemy.
