How hard do you work Sup Forums?

8 hours a day? 10 hours? 12?

It seems the type to make it as titans of business or top political figures do and think about nothing but hard graft.

Maggie Thatcher was known to sleep only 4 hours a night regularly, whereas I can't even motivate myself to stay at work past 5.

>Hong Kong
>Asking a question about work

More sense has never been made

I work 8 hours a day because I'm also attending college and so have a normal hourly wage grind at the moment.
I don't know if that means I work more or less hard, not do I really care right now.

But that's your answer, hopefully you get some use out of it.

I was always lazy as fuck in school and I massively regret it now.

I mean I didn't do that badly in the end but I could have done wayyy better you know.

Not necessarily about hours, but how much you accomplish. I work 8-9 very intense hours and get alot done.

Bummp

I'm just wondering if there's any true workaholics here and what their secret is.

It seems most of us are destined for nothing more than ordinary, unremarkable lives purely because we lack drive and work ethic.

I don't want to be that guy any longer though.

got an 8 hour shift starting at six tomorrow.
It will turn into a 10-11 hour shift since my manager is an asshat and doesnt EVER do a schedule right.

Self employed. 10 hours a day M-F and total of six hours sat and Sun.

Shit thats like 70 hours a week or something. Props to you man.

Usually 9 to 6, sometimes 9 to whenever I can't function anymore.

I worked at a cocktail bar for a while, had shifts as long as 19 hours with a next day 13 hour shift starting 5 hours later... Hard "work" doesn't equate to success. You have to be putting in hard work in the right places.

I'm on unemployment

I suppose. I can definitely see the appeal in what you're saying, but I'm not sure I subscribe to it.
Even if you were destined to greatness, that greatness is limited to this single planet which is but a speck in the overall scope of the universe
In a tiny fraction of time your life and mine will end and in just a barely larger period this planet itself will become uninhabitable, the sun will supernova, etc.
What's important to me is find in happiness in what I do while simultaneously working to secure a future for myself and those I care about (my family, my children, etc).

Everything else is just padding to make that happen. The amount of work is to me irrelevant.

I work 12 hours a day plus I'm connected to company servers and emails 24/7 and I love it but I hate working with faggots that only work for money and bitch about everything everyday. Work hard, challenge yourself, achieve greatness.

...

Self employed

7am to 6pm M-F
10-2 Sat

Airline pilot checking in.

A normal (non vacation, non sick call) month is work 15 days.

The duty days vary though. Some are as short as 4 hours. Some can be 15 hours.

9hr days m-f at the main gig. Side work about 2-3hrs on week nights and another 10 throughout the weekend.

Close to 80hrs a week. Doing pretty well for being somewhat young. But it's a tough pace to keep.

>Not working 10 hour, 4 day work weeks
>Not having 3 day weekends

There's litterally no better way to live.

How were you working 19 hour days in a cocktail bar? Did people come in to drink in the morning or sth what gives?

9hrs a day 5 days a week, followed by 4 the next. Throw in a 2 hour daily commute. "It's not that I'm lazy, I just don't care."

Do you find enough time to exercise and go drinking and stuff?

I find that's the hard bit. Keeping up with all the other stuff outside of work.

I've worked 30 hours in the last two Days. Average about 60 hrs a week. I've been doing this for 20+ years now. It's taken by its toll on my mind and body. Not sure how many more years I can keep it up.

i work 20-24 hours a week under the table cashing in government cheese and renting a room out.

Pots legal next year...

all i need now is sex robots and a maid

I work for myself, otherwise no fucking way Id work this much.

>barking orders and playing golf for ten hours
>hard work

10pm-7am

40 hours on the books weekly, 5-7 hours working for free because I need to keep this job at Walmart since I don't have a GED or anything and no other place will match or exceed my $14/hr wage.

Same here

10:00 am-usually 8:00 pm selling alarm systems door to door
8::00pm-12:00pm SLEEP
12:00pm-8:00am security guard
8:00am-10:00am shower and eat.

OP you have to find something you are passionate about and want to succeed at your passion more than you want to breath.

I want to sell vitamins so I choose sales and also standing around for a night job is not too hard.

I suggest you read 10x-Grant Cardone and Think & Grow Rich-Napoleon Hill to get you going.

nice, then you can be a loser forever.

Not very hard at all. I have a very lucky situation and make up in productivity and competence what I lack in being an obsequious, sniveling, non-threatening (yet promotable) sycophant. Easy, 4/10 schedule very close to my house.

Not the kind of career you hold up as a model of selfless sacrifice and hard work, but it works for me and will see me through.

$14/hour is pretty good Devon. What state? Washington?

Ill second this, senpai

>Maggie Thatcher was known to sleep only 4 hours a night regularly,

the Witch had fucking butler and whole fucking stuf washing her arce. she slept wuring the day over 6 hours.

> 5-7 hours working for free
Getting jewed out of 70-98 bucks a week

if being happy and having all the time in the world defines me as a loser. I gladly accept the label "loser"

There's different ways to play the game

Opposite end of the country.

This isn't devon. The kid is 20. I've been here on overnights for 11+ years.

Usually before / after a popular event (christmas party, football game etc.) bars get really busy and rowdy, so we have to change all the glassware to plastic.

Shift breakdown:

11:00 to 12:00 - setting up for opening time @ 12
12:00 to 2:00 next day - work shift (10-20 mins break allowed)
2:00 to 6:00 / 8:00 to clean everything and change back all plastic to glass

next shift starts @ 11:00-12:00 (just 3-4hrs later)

Working in a chain bar is the shittest job you will ever have, unless you like the atmosphere and the people, or are only doing it extremely part time.

I work as an extra hand in a steel "shop". We make sleeves, riser clamps, clevis hangers, steel shit. 8 to 4:30, $11 an hour (min wage)

It sucks ass real bad, but I'm looking to go into a trade so it can only get worse but at least I'd get paid

>I suggest you read 10x-Grant Cardone and Think & Grow Rich-Napoleon Hill to get you going.

No offence but I've always been wary of self help books. I've read a few and read the reviews of others and it seems 99% are written by snake oil merchants and talk about airy fairy, outdated/obvious concepts.

$14/hour is even better on the opposite end of the country. Maine? I guess that's including the night premium.

This fancy new thing called the zero-hour work week.

Is that a sequel to the 4 hour work week haha XD

12h days for 28 days straight. I get 28d off so it balances out.

>>Outside Maintenance Tech for an ISP

Basically, I'm the guy called out once the problem with internet outage is determined not to be an inside problem.

On paper, I usually work anywhere 9-12 hours a day. Most of that is spent driving, listening to music.

Most "work", where I have to actually get out of my truck, is equal part investigating the problem and finding the easiest resolution.

Its pretty easy, pays great, and people are always happy to see you.

I work two full-time jobs, enjoy both, but only put in about 60 hours a week. Try to obtain a few easy jobs, you will make more and it is less risky. Never be devoted to any company or institution. Get an advanced degree and life is good.

Overtime was axed in 2008 with the recession. It comes only during certain times around Christmas and once in a blue moon throughout the year. I go to lunch once, maybe twice a month and stay late in order to get the job done. Along with being assigned with slow and lazy niggers, they are not dragging me down with them. No wonder why my management (jokingly) wants to clone me because competency is apparently tly rare in these parts.

That's correct. I started out at $10. If I were to go to days l, I'd be taking a $3 paycut. No thanks. Not worth the loss of wages just to be in proximity to management for a possible promotion (which doesn't happen on overnights).

Oil?

i work in corrections, sometimes 60 hours a week, sometimes 48. enough overtime to fill my bank quick and soon to afford to build an 86 mustang notch back with a v8

If you're that cheap just torrent the audiobook. Also Dan Pena, Eric Thomas,Jocko Willink are good motivational. Sales is the most redpilled profession. I literally understand and see methods of advertisement/sales all around me. Plus hourly is stupid. I like to get paid for my competitiveness.

I'm a grad student in STEM. What is this work thing you're referring to?

PMC guys also work scheds like that.

Is anyone here a director in a massive multinational/conglomerate or something?

That's the kind of thing I'm aiming for. It's the getting there that's the hard bit haha.

Get your degree online in something you enjoy. More money and better job

I'm in grad school writing a thesis, 2 hours of research a day (broken up among several hours of shit posting on pol) is the only thing stopping my lifestyle from being that of a NEET

I'm salaried, but I'd ideally prefer a 10 x 4 or even 13.5ish x 3. There's some days where I work 12-14 hours anyway. Though to be fair, I have days where I'm basically played to sit at my desk and play video games just in case someone needs me to actually do something.

I hear ya. You do have more freedom working nights. Still tho trust me you don't want to work nights forever, it really is unhealthy and messes up your body and mind. Unless you're a complete night owl

le epic bait

Nice gig you have!

I am set myself, but how would a young person get into the field. Plenty of geeks here who are bright and apparently wasting time.

How much pussy do you get?

inb4 your banned for porn

Yep
It's 6w on and 4w off in their case. They're good guys and keep us safe from the locals

Not bait

It's art you degenerate

There are plenty of online schools, get your "lazy as fuck" fingers off the keyboard and start taking classes in something you love. More money and better life.

I was working 8 hours a day 5 days a week for the past 3 years, now got a job working 12 hour shifts 4 days a week. Now I get paid almost twice as much and guaranteed at least 8 hours overtime every week. Honestly, I feel much better after work now and sleep like a baby.

co-own a flooring store with my dad.i'm there from 10 am to around 5/6 pm.

then i work at my ranch for an hour or 2 in the evenings.

the only day i sort of get off is sunday, but even then i'm at the ranch for 2-4 hours in the evenings.

I mean, I'm a stay at home pet parent.

So I'm pretty much on the clock 24/7.

boy, the (((titans))) just want you to think that where they are, IS the top.
>you should be as ashamed of yourself as your ancestors are. pick up your weapon and save the world from this (((horror)))

80 to 100 hours a week. That's 9am to 2-5am everyday with work on weekends. Investment banking. Ever heard of it?

No shit, I live in Hong Kong after all haha. Every second person here is some sort of investment banker.

I can answer a few questions.

As far as pussy, /pol will call me a degenerate but my Stew kill count is well over 30.

You'd be amazed at the amount of married FAs and pilots who cheat on their spouses at work. There is an industry term we use, "road wife". As in, ya she's my wife on the road (ie this trip) and then you go back to your actual wife at home when the trip is over.

As far as good va bad career, for me (I made it to the brass ring) it ended up great with respect to time off vs money made. My 2016 W-2 was 234,000 and I actually wasn't gone that much.
pilots use the term "gone" for work because when you're at work, you're gone. Often on the other side of the world.

But not everyone ends up with the good jobs. Those smaller 50-90 seat jets you see pained in UAL/AA/DAL paint are actually NOT flown by UAL/AA/DAL pilots

They are flown by smaller companies like Skywest, Envoy, Repulic, etc. and at those outfits you have to fly your ass off to make just 100K

You a nurse?

>Work 8 whole days on
>6 days entirely free
>Guide troubled teenagers through the wilderness of the Rocky Mountains
>Get to watch has they unfold and begin to understand the value of nature and themselves
how did I get here?
>used to be a minimum-age earning 40 hour/week loser
>survive an excruciating three-year long disease process
>almost die
>reevaluate everything
>throw away most of what I've built and start over from scratch
>struggle but make it to where I've always wanted to be
>now get to wake up every morning and go to bed every single night looking forward to my profession, the people I know, and the work I do

Sometimes you have to descend into the inferno in order to get past the three beasts, and ascend the sacred mountain. I'm glad something terrible happened to me, and I want to pass that gift on.

No, everyone is born with inherent talent or gifts. Focus on using them. It is that thing which is easy for you and difficult for others. That is one of your gifts, use it.

>4x10 schedule
Man I love three day weekends.

you can only do that in your 20s.
your engry level drops off a cliff in your 30s, feels badman

it's 56 you mong

I used to do that. Place was filthy as fuck and depressing. Got a construction job and became much much happier. You don't learn shit in factories like that, its just useless repetitive stuff. I learned more money making skills in one week working as a carpenter than I did in 2 years at the shit shop.

Independent contractor. Work 20 hours a week tops and make six figures.

The Death Star?

I teach literature on weekdays and I play the organ at the cathedral on weekends.

I practically have no holidays in the entire year. My life is devoted to art, and the best part is it doesn't feel like work at all.

Plus the pay is ridiculously good.

no, i work in manufacturing parts for trucks. Funny though, my mom and two of my sisters are nurses.

Not sustainable, you will notice very few people in your field with grey hair. I have buddies on Wall Street, they thought I was a fool to pursue a doctorate. Now they are out of work and older. One was earning a salary of 1 million a year.

i'm about to reenter the work force with this schedule. will be doing merchandising for a big liquor distro company.

i'm looking forward to it tbqh.

I own and operate dispensaries in a legal state. I work 7:30am to 11:30 pm m-f half day saturday and off sunday for Jah. i get paid 220k per year salary

Oh yeah also play keys in a cover band on weekends at a casino. Make a grand a week since there's only two of us. Nice spending money.

granted i am high as fuck all the time and get to do whatever i want, i employ 60+ people

code monkey from home
W2 salary $90K
Freelancer.com 60 hours/week at $65/hr

Busting my ass so I can buy and pay off my house in two years.

I'll slow down after my home is owned and paid for.

8 hours a day, geotechnical engineer.

Currently working on a massive reclamation project for Sri Lanka.

8 to 9 on first job, 10-14 on second job when I'm off from first

DUDE WEED LMAO

12 hours a day, 4 days on 4 days off in a factory. The company allows us to work up to 2 days overtime whenever we want so when I need money I'll come in whenever they need me on one of my two days off.

16 hours but I get 1-2 days off inbetween every day

Gets to be a strain if they work you hard, but I'm contracting with municipal governments 90% of the time so we rarely do.

>it's 56 you mong
>American education

Bretty gud for a freelancer. My wife's brother is making about half that doing front-end from home but he's self-taught and has only been at it for a couple years. What's your background and what kind of dev?

so you work between 18-23 hours each day?

There is a difference between working and being on the job. Don't let the big bosses fool you. They're mostly there for the executive decision making not actually "work".

Granted, they probably worked hard to get into their position and if shit goes wrong they're to blame.

So Cal Real Estate
4-5 days/week
10-12 hr days,
~8 hrs of that with clients/co workers/networking
The rest is travel time, and investment/planning/etc

Work in=pay out with pure commissions, I could work less and have it easy but I choose not to be average.

Work more you lazy chink
