According to the article in OP they want mandatory € because they want "democratic control" of the budget - placing it under the EU parliament instead of closed meetings among finance ministers (sounds nice and democratic but could mean more options for the EU to force members to obey instead of negotiating).

Even then they can't leave. Their remittances from Germany/UK/Scandinavia and so on are enormeous. Lots of German companies employ people in Poland. They sell most of their shit to us and import all of their products from Germany.
