>Spain is dangling on the edge of a very dangerous fiscal precipice. Not only is its government budget still deep in the red, but its social security fund is about to completely run out of money. Once that happens, the real fun begins.
>As recent reports note, Spain's social security fund will run out of money sometime in 2018. The reason? "Bonus payments" to pensioners, similar to expansions in Social Security benefits for current retirees and women that Hillary Clinton seeks to put in place in the U.S. Unless the Spanish government finds the money to patch the coming social security blowout, deep cuts in benefits or steep rises in taxes will have to be made.
Carter Taylor
>La seguridad social este año se va a financiar con deuda, it is really bad

really enlightens my avocados
Grayson Collins
the problem is that the idea is socialist at its core but has 0 long term planning, something you would at least expect in a planified economy. It's a contradiction just like with everything else in post war economy

Wasn't one of the point of the bailout is that Spain and the rest of PIIGS is demanded to cut their gibs in order to receive free billions of Euro?
So Spain, like Greece, couldn't be arsed to cut those and fake their books to look it they actually did?
Ryder Peterson
>he reason? "Bonus payments" to pensioners, similar to expansions in Social Security benefits for current retirees and women Wrong, the reason is unnemplyment above 20% go back to Spanishtan usual 10% and we will be alright.

This is why British PM May is trying to reform it because the UKs is a ticking time bomb too. But no, the dumb dumbs would rather keep the illusion going and get money from the magic money tree. Low IQ people have zero concept of the future and future planning.

You have to be too stupid to think normal/sustainable numbers for Spain are 20/25% After privatization of most national companies, the land restructuration with Semari, we stayed in numbers around 15-8% True, we are now at 18.6%
Mason Wright
What was the Spanish economy like before adopting the euro?, and are you still recovering from the 2008 crisis?
Benjamin Morris
as I said before, that can be solved if the government remove the 2 extra pay to the retirees and the functionaries and stop with the tax cuts because muuh elections, we could be under 85 now
Luke Rodriguez
>i did not say its normal/sustainable, i said what hapened, and its the same your graph shows
Cameron Nguyen
Before preparing for EU membership, Spain was 3rd world country, lagging some 10 years from Europe. After euro, inflation went out of hand, and prices skyrocketed, but we somehow catch up with Europe. The 2008 crisis here was big, really big, and yes we are still recovering.Check unemplyment graph above to see the numbers.
Parker Reyes
You can't do that because its a democracy. People want benefits without having to pay for them. They want money without tax increase. And it doesn't help that young people aren't employed and so can't pay taxes either. The simplest solution is to have dual currency and have two prices for everything. One price would be whatever the fuck Spain currency is called and is use for only products and services made in Spain. A local currency so resources can be organized locally. And the Euro for overseas products. That or have people work for free.
Elijah Richardson
>before adopting the euro We have been in crisis since the death of Franco, we recover a bit in the Blair's times with all the housing bubble but that went to sheeit, yes we will be out of the 2008 thing in 2020-24, thanks god we focus less in all the housing thing and the villages and cities aren't full retard now and we somehow have more control of the public money
Grayson Gray
>Before preparing for EU membership, Spain was 3rd world country, lagging some 10 years from Europe. wrong, what are you talking about?
source pls
Ethan Powell
Euro countries monetary policy belongs to eurobank They cant do shit
John Parker
Just import more africans and refugees That will work
Logan Watson
has been done before here with the functionaries we could remove the extra paids, stop with the tax cuts was something that we must do, also dual currency can't work now here, we souldn't enter in the EU back then just like Norway, but the greedy politicians sold the country
yes open the markets worked 4 us.... we will never have a 3'7 again, just saying
Nicholas Torres

Robert Martin
wrong, the fucked up economy is thanks to local government like Catalonia, Galicia and the Basques. If it wasn't for madrid actually keeping things together, they would all be as bad as portugal.
