This is embarrassing

A ton of Americans were not able to find North Korea on a map.

Whats funny is that Republicans were more likely to be able to find North Korea

and men too

nytimes.com/interactive/2017/05/14/upshot/if-americans-can-find-north-korea-on-a-map-theyre-more-likely-to-prefer-diplomacy.html?smid=tw-upshotnyt&smtyp=cur&_r=2

>conservative men r more likely to know stuff
wow color me surprised

any time % of americans is brought up or how bad our education system is or how low our IQ is, we still have all the smartest whites, asians, and indians in the fucking world lmao, its just the other 40% dragging us down

This is bullshit.

>yes 55%
>no 34%
What happened to the other 11%?

I'd be willing to bet democrats are clueless about almost any subject

>There are dots placed in the ocean

How was this conducted? There's no way someone would do that

they possibly were taught, but why keep irrelevant knowledge.

55% of those who know a korean know where North Korea is
34% of those who don't know any koreans know where NK is

>Have you ever visited another country?
>Yes 43%
>No 26%

Where did the other 31% go?

With the Korean ancestry one might justify it as "don't know" answers, but how do you justify it for this one?

Probably I know an asian but am not sure if they are Korean or Japanese or whatever.

That's good. When we erase it off the map no one will notice.

oops my bad this is correct, had to look again

Nevermind, I just realized it means 43% of those who did visit another country know where NK is, opposed to 26% for those who didn't.

It's worded in a pretty stupid way though.

wow. americans are stupid. what a surprice...

>Those born in 1963 to 1972 less likely to know

How?

So this... is the power... of American education.

Really? NK is easy as fuck to find. If you try some bullshit on me like montenegro, I don't know where it is.

Education went to shit in the 60s, people born in the 80s grew up with the internet.

>“They hold the U.S. responsible for the division of the Korean peninsula and seem to believe that U.S. foreign policy since the mid-20th century has revolved around the single-minded goal” of damaging them, she said. “The cruelest thing you can do is tell a North Korean that many Americans couldn’t locate North Korea on a map.”

North Korea absolutely Blown The Fuck Out

Here's a fun thing that occasionally gets done on Sup Forums. Take the quiz and post results.

Kidding tho. I happen to be Texan too

Cool site.

>less than 100% of people surveyed responded to the survey

Or

>experimental error margins because the surveyed people had to pick their choice on a dartboard at 10 yards.

>65 and up preformed better than everyone else

We're doomed

The only country I need to know is Texas.

Came here to say this. Nearly half of those with a fucking Masters or PhD can't find N.Korea on a fucking map. Fucking pathetic.

Literally useless information, what the fuck is San Marino even known for?

ameriplebs

I get it if people think Korea is somewhere around where Thailand is, but how could anyone confuse China, Australia, India or Japan for Korea? How could they pick the middle of the ocean?

>San Marino
I had never heard of this country, nor seen its flag on Sup Forums. Anyone have it?

They know where NK is because they remember shooting gooks for Truman in their youth

>1:40
>tfw brainlet

Niggers most likely.

We North Korea now.

Okay burgers, there are 5 microstates in europe
Andorra, Monaco, Liechtenstein, San Marino and the Vatican.

All of them except the Vatican are irrelevant but they are easy to find on a map because they are always inside a country or a small area between 2 countries.

I find it funny that the only one of those countries I've seen on Sup Forums is the Vatican.

Here's the Asian one.

Here's mine.

You Euros are so smug what are you gonna do about this?

2016 election helped in learning the map a lot.

Maybe they think best Korea is actually Atlantis

The Balkans

United States territorial/state lines

>lots of straight lines
>use of natural rivers and mountain as borders
>lots of unique shapes, iconic, memorable
>looks planned out, makes good use of space

European Borders
>shitty ass tax haven micronations
>almost no straight lines
>that ugly mess of butthole shaped nations between turkey and Germany
>3-4 iconic countries, tons of filler nations more irrelevant than North Dakota

no wonder the European Onion is a disaster
