Christianity only needed to use the Old Testatement. Pagans followed master morality, which according to Nietzsche, put the strong on a pedestal. There was no need for Pagans to justify war from a moral perspective. It was "my tribe is right and the strong rule".
Islam can certainly be questioned it's why there is no compulsion in religion according to its main text, the Quran. And the book reads as if there is a conversation between reader and God, where questions are put forward and answered.
