Well, I wouldn't say that there isn't a correlation. There is, but no directly connected to racism. People fare worse on their studies due to lower quality of enviroments: it is usually blacks that live in awful neighborhoods ridden with violence. Stress might make you fare worse in your studies. Besides that, namecalling and talking down on people may have a negative impact on their self-esteem, and such an attitude can make blacks score less than others -- not because of racism, but because of demeaning talk and structural suffering.
In the end, the cause would not be actual racism, but the suffering the comes from it, for blacks to have worse fare than whites on their scores.

Freud is mostly seriously considered in the humanities as a means of cultural analysis and as a link to describe the effects of romanticism on our current ways of thinking, how from the 20th century culture is very much a struggle between our Enlightenment views and our romantic views. Psychology is trying to be as much of a medical field as it can be. Freud is used in intro courses to describe the development of the field and the origins of certain terms. My town specializes in Neurosciences, partly because they tend to attract more subsidies for being a hard, data driven niche. Of course they do need a lot of capital for their equipment. Don't go in to social psychology, they are pretty big quacks.

I think there is a very high correlation between IQ and ingenuity, but I don't think it's 100% representative of intelligence. Take a look at China, Japan and Korea. They all have very high IQs, but they are not very inventive and barely win any noble prizes in comparison to their population. They are very good at raw memorization and copying though. As for Ashkenazi Jews, yes they are more intelligent than other Jews, but even Sepharadic Jews are more intelligent than Europeans. In France for example, there are mostly Sepharadic Jews and they are extremely educated, all enginners, doctors and lawyers and have won more noble prizes per capita than any European nation. Even 10 times more than Ashkenazis in Israel. In Israel they are less educated, though. I think it's all to do with breeding. IQ alone is clearly not the only genetic and cultural achievement that matters in the array of intelligence that produces pioneers of the world in curiosity, art, and innovation. The accurate thing you say is that women are more clustered at the average mean creating a similar average. That doesn't matter at all.
