The "church" was taken over by them by the Jewish Church Fathers like Irenaeus. >gematria Absolutely Jewish
Jeremiah Ward
That's true about litteraly any institution. Even if you don't belong to one, you are still a man, and thus your faith will be corrupt and sinful. There is literally no way to fully escape sin in this life, for no matter what you will still be human

Fuck off. Preacher is a great series but now loads of people will only know it as that shit AMC series. Fucking hell, why does everything AMC puts out have to be shit?
Juan Myers
>Catholic church has a hierarchy, Litteraly nothing wrong with that. youtu.be/RWYwBDqFsuE >everyone is equal through the eyes of god (except for niggers and faggots) and that's the only way it should be yes, but no. Firstly, even the early church had leaders, the apostles. They knew better than anyone the teachings of Christ, and thus are more fit to lead than anyone. From that we get apostolic succession. Secondly, many gifts different spirit. You are assuming that the church belives that if you are higher in the church you are more holy or "better" in the eyes of God. That is completely untrue. Church heirarchy is based around preserving and spreading the teachings of Christ, not determing who God thinks is better. There are a plethora of saints, the holiest you can get, who were nothing more than average joes. And there are plenty of popes the Church denounces as evil men.
Alexander Roberts
I never said that in any way shape or form. Recognizing that nobody will achieve complete perfection in this life (even the most apostles left Christ's side during the crucifixion.) in no way means that works aren't needed for salvation.
Gabriel Diaz
either you can't be without sin in this life or you save yourself through works, those are the only options
Justin Peterson
>either you can't be without sin in this life or you save yourself through works, those are the only options Completely false dichotomy. There is nothing contradictory about saying: >everyone sins and >salvation is through Grace, faith and works.
Owen Young

Non denominational stodgy the bible hard.my protected brothers give you Catholic Church a hard time without giving the church the credit is do.
Nolan Morales
I pick all three, just like Jesus taught, and the Church affirmed at Trent. >is: the third person singular of be >be: exist
>this: used to identify a specific person or thing close at hand or being indicated or experienced >my: belonging to the speaker >body:the physical structure of a person or an animal, including the bones, flesh, and organs
So, with all those words defined, lets see what that statement means: "This, the object [bread] near at hand, is, exists as, my, that which belongs to me, Body, my physical structure as a person." >somehow this means it just represents it.
Jordan Nguyen
the Bible teaches that justification is by faith alone
Joshua Reyes
Wrong. Matthew 7:21: "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven." Luke 8:21: "But He answered and said to them, 'My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.' " Matthew 19:16-21: "And behold, one came to him and said, Teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why askest thou me concerning that which is good? One there is who is good: but if thou wouldest enter into life, keep the commandments. He saith unto him, Which? And Jesus said, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honor thy father and mother; and, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. The young man saith unto him, All these things have I observed: what lack I yet? Jesus said unto him, If thou wouldest be perfect, go, sell that which thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.”

Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith alone without the deeds of the law. Romans 3:28

James 2:17 faith without works is dead.
Isaac Foster
Firstly, 3:28 does not say "alone" Secondly, that's a quote from paul. If I had posted James chapter 2, then that would be a valid quote. But I posted the gospels, the word of Christ Himself. Matthew 21:28-31: "‘But what do you think? A certain man had two sons, and he came to the first and said: "Son, go work today in my vineyard." He answered: "I will not," but afterwards he repented and went. So he came to the second and said likewise, and he answered and said: "I go, sir," but did not go. Which of the two has done the will of his father?’ They said to him: ‘The first.’ Jesus said to them: ‘Verily, I say to you: The publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.’" This passage clearly states that just saying "I will go" is not enough, rather those who do, even if they at first say "I will not" does the will of the Father. Thus, Christ clearly says that it is doing what He asks, not proffesing loyalty, that one does His "will." That is to say, that good works do more than merely declrations of faith. So no, it is by Grace, Faith and Good works that one is saved, not by Grace and faith alone.
