I just always reject that word, for that very reason: you can't make semantic points to over-rule emotive terminology. "Holocaust" is an emotionally triggering word that makes people irrational; I always refuse to lend it validity, because even if that upsets someone, they are at least primed to move through their irrationality to try to listen to a different perspective down the road.

Well, I get to that, but thing in terms of Neuro-Linguistic programming: you know that 99% of the population has this irrational, mythological constellation of assumed facts all tied up in the word "Holocaust". If you start the conversation affirming it in any way, you start the conversation from a position society is conditioned to see as morally and intellectually compromised, regardless of your arguments or premises. By denying it outright, which almost no one does, it makes the listener still react, but with more uncertainty than otherwise.

They become uncertain, then you have a space to set up your premises and proceed to attack the fallacies or falsehoods about the myth. Unless you set things up correctly in a conversation, you have no control over the listener. This is also why memes and buzzwords are helpful, like calling it "lolohoax" or "holohoax" -- it throws the listener off. If they are a lunatic, or a kike, they'll lose their mind at this, but that can also make you look more credible, like any opponent or resistance is from "irrational minds"

A) approx. 11.something million jews left on planet earth in 1945 (from a population estimated to be 16.something million).
B) 11 million jew and non-jews died in the holocaust, an arbitrary number invented by Simon Wiesenthal (6 million jews, 5 million non-jews). Fact is millions of non-jewish civilians perished during ww2 not related to bombing. The number changes depending on how you draw the parameters (if e.g. the siege of leningrad is considered an inhumane act, then the 1 million non-jews who starved to death inside leningrad are considered holocaust victims)
