This is such a meme. I know an Aerospace Engineer who graduated with honors who couldn't find a job for over a year after college.

This is in the US where supposedly there are so few engineers that we need more H1B visas.

Depends on the region, but engineers are the ones who have it the easiest to find a job in spain too.
I've been to sweden and there where plenty of engineers from the canary islands working there, as the situation in the islands is crap. Where I'm from (basque country) unemployment for engineers is basically zero, there's demand for more.
