Hey, I'm new to /cpd/ and I started listening to it last night, but I have a question, I don't know if it gets asked a lot, or if Im just dumb but I couldnt find much explanation in the op or anywhere else.
How do I understand what's going on? I looked at the bearcat1 codes site, but it often lists multiple meanings under the same number for different areas or units in chicago, how am I supposed to know where Im listening to, or what numbers are the correct ones? Otherwise general explanation needed please, I constantly hear different numbers, often multiple numbers in sequence and it confuses me if they even mean anything at all. I just have no idea whats going on, sorry.

Most likely high as fuck, drunk or dead. Very seldom is it someone with a true medical condition.
I was sad when I heard one call for someone in the street refusing to move. An elderly man wandered into the street and was very confused. You could hear him in the background yelling at the cops "I don't know you, you can't tell me what to do, I am a veteran!!" Dispatch matched him to a call for a missing senior and his family came to get him. The man sounded so afraid. Strangely enough, he was found by the blocks drug dealer, he called it in and the cops let the drug dealer go because he stayed with the man until police got there. All this happened at 4am. I don't even want to think what could have happened to that elderly man at 4am in Chicago if the dealer hadn't stayed to help/watch over him.
