I've personallly never seen one in McDonald's in Japan. Their counter staff are outstanding and are a pleasure to deal with. A lot of other restaurants do have a small touch screen at the tables to order food and drink though a person still brings it to you at most. Some conveyor belt sushi restaurants have a small train that bring special orders.

it should but it doesn't, inflation has been happening but wages have been stagnant. Now when there's a minimum wage increase, companies increase the price of their goods and services to accommodate the wage increase.

Put it this way: if a company is making $1,000,000/year profit and paying their people $12/hour and then the minimum wage increase goes up to $15/hour, that company isn't just going to say "oh well I was making $1,000,000 profit but now I'll only be making $820,000 profit but that's okay!" no, they'll raise the prices on whatever they're selling so that they still make that $1,000,000 profit even after they have to start paying higher wages. Which in turn means your money doesn't go as far (and also fucks over the people that were already in the upper wage bracket before the wage increase since now they effectively have less buying power as well)

I'm not saying that anyone "cares" about their boss, it's just the reality. The boss cares about himself, he isn't going to take a cut in profits because of the minimum wage increase forcing him to give a raise to his employees, he's just going to increase his prices on goods and services.

You absolutely will notice the increases over the long run. Sure it might seem minimal on an item-to-item basis but it will add up to make a significant difference on your weekly/monthly budget. Maybe the milk you buy goes from $3.50 per 1L to $3.74 per 1L, and the chicken you buy goes from $4/lb to $4.39/lb, so on and so forth. It'll add up to the point where your raise won't really get you much more. Not to mention the eventual real estate/rental price increase.
