I understand the faith alone doctrine and it does have a tradition in hte church but you protestants need to understand that Catholics put recent pagan converts under the law first. Pope Gregory notes in the letter above that pagans should still do their animalsacrifices to the lord instead. He goes on to say, which I did not cite ,Because it was part of hte old covenant.
