God bless socialism, amirite

Ruining the only good thing this country had going for it

Fuck off. Here's the redpill:

After over 35 years of BACK-TO-BACK Progressive Conservative governments who squandered your fucking oil wealth and failed to diversify the economy like a bunch of pale Venezuelans, you're blaming the NDP which were elected in 2015.

Lougheed (PC) established a fund to make your province wealthy and strong, to manage the wealth it was blessed with. Then every fucking PC government after that kept digging their grubby fingers into the piggy bank and let much of their oil wealth go to the US and China. That's the complete fucking opposite of fiscal conservatism.

If I were a teenager with cuckold fantasies, I'd call you a cuck right now.

NDP had nothing to do with oil tanking though. If you put all of your eggs in one basket and that basket goes through a rough patch it's going to be a bad time.

Has nothing to do with 'socialism'. Time to learn something about globalist economics.

Still doesn't change the fact that the NDP government will continue to send Alberta further and further in to debt. Just look what it has done to British Columbia.

Don't worry we will liberate you soon

>failed to diversify the economy

I dont understand exactly what you're trying to say. Alberta is ripe with agricultural and natural resources, and some indutries are still doing quite well.

The current slump is a direct result of the current government pushing to 'diversify the economy' while simultaneously ignoring the largest source of income in all of Canada.

There's still hundereds of billions of dollars worth of oil in the dirt here, but we simply dont have the money to get it out at the moment.

>The current slump is a direct result of

... the oil market. How coincidental that the commodity slump happened at the same time the Albertan economy, heavily dependent on oil and other natural resources, took a shit.

Come home, Albertan. Joining the US will solve all of your economic woes. And bring British Columbia, too. Let's make Alaska contiguous.

>... the oil market. How coincidental that the commodity slump happened at the same time the Albertan economy, heavily dependent on oil and other natural resources, took a shit.

You do realize that the companies are doing EVERYTHING they can to weather the storm, be it cutting salaries, no bonuses, no raises, cutting staff, and moving to part-time work?

All of that is being done to continue to be able to produce oil.

Then in comes the NDP who wants to levy a carbon tax upon those companies just so they cannot feasibly operate while still coming up to par. On top of that, they are trying to spend on so much worthless shit that is more social safety net bullshit.

You can go on and on about how it began with the oil shock and I'll go on and on about how the NDP government isn't doing anything to help weather the storm. In fact, they're doing the opposite. They want to see the oil industry shut down so Alberta doesn't depend on it.

What the fuck would Alberta do then, my friend. Please, "Mr. Diversify", what could Alberta do that other provinces don't already specialize in?

I'll wait.

Oil has bounced back to at least 2/3 of what it was, and yet people are still losing work here.

People will be losing jobs until the equilibrium point for operation is met so that companies can make back the losses they sustained weathering the storm using reserves.

It's a very painful process, but one that has happened in the past and the established companies know how to deal with.

It sucks, but what you should be worried about is the NDP levying a carbon tax on those companies. The provincial government is sabotaging it's most wealthy industry because they don't like it's implications against the "environment's health".

I.E. they're grand-standing and virtue signaling all in one swift motion

Albertan here.

Diversifying the economy is objectively superior.

CBC said the Paris agreement will create billions of new green jobs.

It is the job - perhaps the duty - of the government to invest in good paying jobs and diversity the economy so rural retards stop losing their shit when oil prices fluctuate.

>What the fuck would Alberta do then, my friend.

There are many things Alberta could have done. How about following the model of other Western countries and building up the technology sector? We still don't have a "Canadian Silicon Valley". They flushed most of their wealth down the toilet and mismanaged their oil fund. Maybe some of that money could have been used to galvanize the economy in the event of a price crash. They had almost 45 years of successive PC governments, including 35+ years after the introduction of the heritage fund. They did nothing but ride the oil wave.

Why would we want people from a country that vote socialists into office?

>CBC said the Paris agreement will create billions of new green jobs.

The liberal jews told me more regulations will magically create more jobs and I believe them!

>and yet people are still losing work here.

Unemployment has been falling in Alberta since last November, although it still hasn't recovered to its 2014 levels.

If that happens I'm moving to Alaska for 5 years then to Texas for retirement. What a dream to be 65 in a rocking chair shooting illegals climbing the wall....

It will be overrun by then.

NDP only got 40% of the vote. You guys really need to dump FPTP.

>what are variable extraction costs

plus no, it fucking didn't

>us goes from importing shitloads of oil, creating these grand opportunities, to being a major exporter whom combined with the saudis flooded the market and destroying said opportinities
>mu gommies

Are you seriously ignorant of what goes on in the world around you? Alberta could have had the most fiscaly conservative government on the planet and it would have made literaly 0 difference

I guess they're trying to make Alberta specialise in welfare like the Newfies.

Your part of the issue, Alberta has lots of natural resources, the federal and provincial government has made it almost illegal to recover and sell them and when you can you can't put it on a tanker cause of environmental reasons, yet they can go into port at the st Lawrence to unload Saudi oil? So your idea is basically fuck those families whom have made their living in the production of GDP, you've got ideals to push. Hope it's your families living next on that chopping block comrade.

Blue collar retards have no idea how to save their money. I've seen 20 year olds racking in 10k easy a month, only to spend it all on Trucks, booze, coke, whores, video games and baloney.

Communists like me work for the government (as public servants) so we can collect high salaries, great benefits and robust pensions. We accept these terms because someone has to clean up the waste and pollution left by rural retards that only care about themselves.

By the way the NDP did nothing wrong; they cannot artificially raise global oil prices.

Yeah, I'm out of work too. Im an economic refugee leaving the country. Minimum wage 15-17 an hour? Lol why the fuck would I work as a qualified tradesman in a city for 25? Bye Canada, I don't want to live in a socialist or communist diverse nation which is showing evidence of severe decline.

>All gold sold
>Sold all farm rights
>Sold all gold in ground
>Sold all oil in ground
>Outsourcing labour in BC to people from India in oil and gas industry for undercutting
>Privatization of electricity in Toronto
>Privatization of airports

LITERALLY Canada has nothing left. Nation is fucking ruined. Universal basic income? Uhh... How the fuck is that going to help? More like final nail in the coffin.

Thanks, Canada, for ruining my future and every other ambitious hard working individual.

> cannot artificially raise global oil prices

They can still work to help those affected by it instead of throwing them under the bus

...

Spoken like a true shill, "public servant" in Canada is the person who steals your pay check to pad their retirement. Take 35 percent of that old lady's wage who's bagging your groceries, so you can get home in your CVA cause it's Thursday and tomorrow is an EDO, but you'll go back in to "work" for half a day and 95 a hour for OT. It's ok if you get board you can phone friends on your government provided phone, hey only 25 years of that bill and you get a pension on top via that old lady whom works her ax gash off to pay rent and feed her family. Yup so much respect for "public servants"
>pic related.

>By the way the NDP did nothing wrong; they cannot artificially raise global oil prices.
No they sure can't, but they can fuck a whole province, and only half knows apparently. BTW what's going to happen to your pension when your province goes broke? The only record the NDP set was hiring of public servants, and when your going broke hiring servants only lowers GDP, Only got agriculture left there now and motley notley will strangle that if it starts making gains to, it's the NDP way. Bet your monthly pamphlets don't say that.

Actually, most Canadians have the attitude that government should create jobs, regulate industry, offer social services and provide goods to low income people. We are investing in infrastructure and green energy because rural and suburban retard are not smart enough to make such investments on their own.

My entire family is in public service.

We look forward to comfy office jobs, career advancement opportunities, pensions, stability and we offer services Canadians voted for.

If you think the rest of Canada wants our dirty bitchimun then you are wrong. People hate you and hate what you do to the planet. My job is to step in and tie a noose around you neck to protect our fresh water and boreal forests.

Government doesn't make jobs,
The world wants oil,
Your probably a CO,
You made a direct threat to my life,
You proved me right,
Your still a leech.

I don't live in Alberta, I've diversified on my own, as I currently run 2 business non oilfield related your views are redundant and staggering, and have reinforced my views that the majority of public servants are a complete drain on Canadian taxpayer resources, to much unions, to much solidarity for me. You rant about how much we need people like you then you resort to threats. The union is strong with this one, must be a high up. To bad your on 4 chan with no kangaroo court to back you, have fun on your next EDO, every week it may be your last considering your premier.
