I believe it is important to know what their beliefs are based on so that you know where to attack and where their morality stems from if you get to argue with them.
To sum it up for you, they believe that historical events have established structures of power within the perceptions of people. So when they are talking about systemic racism or sexism they are not talking about laws or regulations, they are talking about people of color or women being laughed at or disregarded because of primary characteristics.
The most important thing for them is to shatter those systems of power by boosting the voices of people who were previously disregarded. This is why they want to create "spaces" that empower specific groups. They argue that it is important to notice the colour of the skin and the gender of the people who usually oppose them.
According to them what they are doing is ultimately good since it helps the people who are usually disadvantaged, and that you can not have equality until the West is fundamentally changed since otherwise those with power and privilige will struggle to keep it.
They also acknowledge that you can be a poor, white male and have a really shitty life. However it is not a result of you being white or male since those are characteristics favored in society. Therefore, you do not have a right to speak against intersectionality or coloured-only spaces, since you do not have the experiences they do.
Many of these people come from a place of wanting to help. Unfortunately, you know what they say about the road to hell.
