This. I live in ca, and a lot of the people I work with have teenagers, who are desperate to find part time jobs. They're either denied, because illegals do the work (busboy, cutting lawns, stockrooms, etc), or the jobs are fill with laid off middle aged people. The traditional jobs for teenagers have disapeared. Fast food, pizza delivery, it's all done by immigrants or illegals now, or older people working 3 jobs so they don't get foreclosed on.
I've had a LOT of conversations with these people, who complain their kids are lazy and aren't trying hard enough to get a job, making bullshit statements like "I could walk out of here right now and get a job delivering papers." No, you can't dude, all those routes are now done by Mexicans in trucks. One lady chimed in that her kid went around their neighborhood asking if they could cut people's grass, and they got threatened by the illegal crew who 'own" that neighborhood.
I started working as a teen in CA in the 80's. Jobs were there, it was not hard to find part time or full time work. These days? Good fucking luck, if you're white, and a teenager. All of their jobs have been taken over - that's why it makes sense for a lot of them to go online and try to make a few bucks on Twitch or YouTube. I feel bad for them. They're fucked, no matter what - no jobs before college, have to go 50-100K in debt, no jobs when they graduate, and the state is threatening to tax them more to pay for boondoggles like this health care plan - AND they're expected to buy someone else's grandpa's house for a 700% profit (or more) for grandpa, and be in debt the rest of their lives.
