Literally everyone who supports Trump hates that he supports the Saudis. To understand why he does, you have to understand economics. His hands are tied very VERY strongly. We have a monopoly agreement where oil can only be bought with dollars.
We rely on the petrodollar monopoly to keep people from using more stable currencies. Currently, the only way we can ever pay off our debts is if we inflate the dollar enough to make it worthless. We steadily inflate the dollar, which means we make our debtholders pay us interest. When people are free to choose, they'll run from terrible investments like the dollar, but they don't have any choice thanks to our oil monopoly.
If we withdraw support from Saudi Arabia, the petrodollar collapses. We're talking Weimar-tier hyperinflation. The entire world will descend into chaos immediately.
Trump and his team know all this, and they're buying time.
