Alright I'll share some of my personal tech keks with you anons.
I went to a conference last year that included some manager numale from buzzfeed. I wasn't looking forward to it but I didn't have much choice as it's not much of a conference but just 1 room with tech speakers going one at a time.
Anyway this buzzfeed guy literally starts his presentation with "i'm going to do a presentation on nothing - i mean all that i know". haha top lols. then he shows a slide that says something like "communication is queen" rather than the common phrase "is king" and I came buckets.
Later on there was another speaker, a young mulatto man who was very successful in starting a dry cleaning business in Manhattan. Not sure why he was speaking to be honest, but during his Q&A a light skinned latin woman asked a question along the lines of:
"The town we are in is demographically 86% african american, but look around the room. What do you have to say about that?"
Obviously the room was full of mostly white people, with a handful of asian and indians. The speaker's reply was "be the change you want to see in the world" which I thought was a good out.

In the networking lab getting a tutorial from our lecturer and some random group of administrators come in with two girls. They were updating the advertisements or something so they wanted to just quickly jump in and take a photo of the two girls holding cables next to a server rack, make it look good ya know?

Github should not put Diversity into their company or they can never go back. They should focus on their true goal of providing a platform for developer collaboration. For their conferences only the best developers that use their platform should be picked. Picking stupid people for "muh" diversity only slows down progress.

In 10 years of networking and working on server farms, I have never once seen any female solve any problem. They never even stumbled across the answer. Even the problems where we had no clue what to do and the only way to isolate the cause was to determine that we had to try X number of things in X order to pinpoint the root of the problem they couldn't figure out the steps to try. The only time a woman belongs near a computer is when they need to google new recipes.
