I sincerely believe we would be better off as a society if almost all media was removed. Not just leftist media but also right wing.

If CNN, MSNBC, FOX News, Huffington Post, Breitbart, Vox, InfoWars, Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, Sup Forums, and a long list of other channels/ sites disappeared tomorrow we would be happier and healthier as a culture.

Oversaturation from all sides is driving us insane and needs to be stopped.

So how would you get to know anything that's going on?

What percentage of the media you're exposed to on a daily basis, whether you agree with it or not, would you honestly say is of value?

get rid of the internet and we go back to pre 90's times

And?

The value is in the total sum of them.

One media outlet in itself doesn't carry that much value, but when you read a bunch of them, you get to know a bigger picture.

If there was no (free) media, you wouldn't be aware of anything happening in the rest of the world. We could all be living like North Koreans.

Absolutely
Ignorance is bliss
It's all fear porn and orchestrated warmongering anyway
Ditch the screens while you're at it
The world went into the toilet after screens were invented: silent film, talkies, movies, tv, computer, cell phones

So, you're saying you would feel better living in a willful information vacuum, and not have a clue what's going on, then being burdened with filtering out the little nuggets of factual information from the already existing media. Yeah, let's get right on it Scooter!

Just saying. I've thought about this too. Are you ready to destroy convenience and fun to leave behind the interconnected world? Will you disavow technology?

Why are you on the internet?

Of course, goy. It's not happening if you don't know it's happening.

>Right wing
>Media
Pick one

It's people who read the media who have no idea what's going on.

We wouldn't be happier or healthier; adversity makes the strong stronger and the weak weaker, but you don't understand that, do you?

You cower in fear of media, but some people invite it.

What strength are you gathering from arguing with an anonymous square of words on the internet right now?

Why don't you figure it out? Weakling.

I'm not entirely convinced that it's possible to just "go back" to the way things were, and even if it were, I'm not so sure I'd do it willingly. Pandora's box is open, so to speak. The internet is an amazing tool, even if it has been subverted long ago. Would you willingly walk away from the collected knowledge of humanity so easily?

Imagine what you could accomplish, what real strength you could develop, if you didn't spend your time arguing at words that appear on your screen.

I think journalists should be forced to work for free. The way things are today is a bunch of loudmouths trying to sell you the news or shilling for your patronage. How can you not feel gaslighted when you are constantly force-fed such garbage?

Knowledge is power

I just think we're all a bit terror fatigued mate. I see your point but we still need free flowing information. I suggest logging off the grid for a while.

i just wish there was a true unbiased news channel, no fucking agenda, no fucking opinions, simply read the news of the day and leave it at that - no discussion, just boring facts

You dream about alternate realities instead of adapting to the real one, because you're a loser. Stop dreaming, manchild, because all this media isn't going anywhere.

And now the anonymous words on your screen have taken up fifteen minutes of your time and made you angry enough to resort to name calling.

You deserve better than this.

I feel like there should be a reform in the media where it's just news and not biased. Save the biased for another outlet that focuses on discussion. The majority of the world wants to know what's up in the world, not be fear mongered or manipulated

To be fair bias is always going to exist amongst individuals and thus amongst news organisations. It's kind of inevitable.

You have a good point there
