Rape victims will no longer have access to specialist treatment in Stockholm. Instead, this treatment will only be available to refugees traumatized by war and torture.
"This affects a very exposed group that shouldn't be punished further", Fredrik Garpe, director of operations at the crisis and trauma center, criticizes the decision. "I do not believe everyone will receive the treatment they require", he continues.
Maria Hägerstrand, director of psychiatry at Stockholms defends the decision since those affected by trauma of torture or war should be prioritized by the clinic. "This is a group that is growing with the migration waves and we want to help even more individuals in this group in the future", she says.

Fair enough. In either case the agreement is obviously a question of interpretation, it even says so in the article, and the Sthlm city council is in it to save money. It also seems clear that regardless of whether the trauma center was originally intended to help raped women or not, the alternatives they are now given are obviously far less costly options with longer queues and lower treatment quality.
