This is what happened in the Sargon "debate". Sargon's answer to destiny's theory on environmental determinism was "lol idk". Most people think Sargon won that but I think he lost hard because he was unable to propose any sensible explanations for racial gaps that couldn't be routed back to some environmental influence like racial discrimination. For example Sargon proposed that blacks need to get married more frequently to close racial gaps in crime and income. The problem is that he doesn't show a causal link between those factors, and when Destiny points out that Sargon hasn't explained what causes blacks to not get married, Sargon just started category-denial. "Hurr blacks are individuals".

Race realists on the other hand can just point out that the between-group heritability on traits like IQ is pretty high, so different races have different outcomes in large part because of genetics. Destiny doesn't have an argument against that, as evidenced by his "debate" with thealthype here:

It's hard to say he "won" because almost no debate took place, it was just Ryan explaining why he liked Trump over Clinton due to how he theoretically saw Trump playing out.
