Go back to India! Now!

LMAO, not from India...

What percentage of your colleagues are right-wing/ libertarian ?

I personally place myself as a right-wing libertarian, but I'd say the majority of my colleagues are blind lefties who don't really think about politics unless it's popular in the news at the time.

Btw, I ask because I have a theory that best engineers are Libertarian and the only reason Silicon Valley is liberal is because of pressure from retards around them.

Munich, Bavaria

Zagreb, South Slavland.

Scottsdale, AZ.

Located in South Australia.
Graduating at the end of the year.
I don't have a fucking clue where to work.
Google? Isn't that like the most difficult place to get a job?
I wanna work in security programming

What am i looking at here?

I'm here. But I'm not telling you where.

Melbourne - it's alright.

ABQ

How's the startup scene in Germany. I've had few people from Aachen complain how everything is run by government. (bigger companies or research centers not sure)

I was just curious how many of us are here..

>Google? Isn't that like the most difficult place to get a job?
Most of the people just suck..

Any big tech companies in Croatia ?

No. Private sector is dead here thanks to commie bureaucracy

Yeah I'm pretty decent, but past experience makes me feel kinda wary.
I've been to like 3 final round Microshaft interviews and 1 final round Amazon interviews and never got hired.
They always say "awww, you were so close but we decided not to hire you, come back next year".
Those 6 hour coding interviews are stressful and exhausting as hell, not sure I want to do it again.

Mt. View, CA

secure comms software engineer

Is it true security pays more than standard software engineering?

Worked at startup in Dallas/Ft. Worth

Great job, everyone was pretty based, nearly all white and yellow males

Get aquired by IBM

immediate poo diversity/SJW female HR staff

Quit

>Atlanta GA.

I assume those interviews were for internship ?
Do you have any personal projects that would put you apart from rest of the crowd ?
In that stage of the career, personal projects mean a lot and can be decisive factor when hiring manager is making final decision.

Not politics...

Nah they were for jobs.
Didn't get hired by anybody so I went on to do my PhD.
Now I've got 3 years of personal research projects under my belt including a website that I use for research.
Still don't think I can compare to the types of people you hear about who get hired though, people who have 3 patents and a startup before they even graduate with a bachelors.

I've been learning programming on my own for a while now and was wondering what level of competency/months practicing is enough to start looking for entry level positions?

Student at Berkeley for EECS. Too many liberals.

I work in shenzen but live here. WFH as much as i can

You'd have to be a pretty competent with programming and computers in general to nab one without a degree.

Real world experience is what they look for, try getting a few months volunteer experience at local companies and you'll be good.

It depends how fast learner you are, good friend of mine needed 2 years from 0 to being hired by Twitter. He is slightly above average iq, but extremely dedicated person.

Senior Engineer here, specialized in robotics, automation and ML Pen tester ofc.
>where are you located
nice try FBI

He dropped out when he got the offer.

He's probably charismatic and a good bullshitter, but I doubt he's very competent realistically if he's only been programming for 2 years.

Dropped out of school you mean?

Howndid he distinguish himself from the rest of the crowd if you don't mind me asking.

I know....

programming seems like a really shit job to be honest

>sit all day being frustrated looking for a typo or semicolon in thousands of lines of code
>lose eyesight due to constant strain
>get diabetes and heart disease from sitting all the time

People's Marxist Republic of Melbournistan, self employed.

Programming is fucking fun.
You obviously haven't done it.
It's like playing with legos or building a model kit or something

Most definitely competent, he's best friend for those two years was computer. All he did was solving programming problems. He joined competitive programming club in his university, and did well on ICPC competitions.

i graduated with a computer science bachelor degree...

his*

>sit all day being frustrated looking for a typo or semicolon in thousands of lines of code
it is fun until 40. Then you want to kill yourself
>lose eyesight due to constant strain
Nope
>get diabetes and heart disease from sitting all the time
kinda, but thats not the problem. The biggest issue are back problems. If you are above 180 cm (I quess its american 5 11) sitting before a computer will destroy your back in 15 years.

>get diabetes and heart disease from sitting all the time
we're not all hamburgers, you compensate by working out and fisking

>sitting before a computer will destroy your back in 15 years.
I've spent basically all my waking hours (including free time) sitting at a computer for 15 years and there's nothing wrong with my back or eye sight or endocrine system.

I can narrow you down by your fb interests, you can be anywhere

Wait for that ad senpai

>will destroy your back in 15 years.
an exercise most don't know, hard to explain and scanner only works on windows here...

When you drive, whenever you got the chance, hold a pen before your eyes. Press your neck as far back as you can, with your chin as far you can against the front of the next, looking like a swede, you will feel it burn in matter of sec. Do this as often as you can, it fixes the "hanging over kb issue"

Here the sw industry is basically destroyed by low quality outsourcing and jews

> Engineer
> Software

Pick one.

no fb, not even a google sorry

what is maths?
what is industrial IT?
what is automation?
what is robotics?
>what are emus?

Yeah, but that's a good thing in a way. Germany's high tech sector is heavily propped up with government money.

>Southern France
>Last year of masters degree
>hunting for internships around town, I have two contacts trying to sneak me in Ubisoft so hopefully that works out.

Emus are devil birds. Just be thankful us strong Aussies keep them under control. You reindeer fuckers wouldn't last 5 minutes.

Real engineer here. Writing a crappy python script doesn't make you an engineer. Software "engineers" are like sanitation "engineers".

IDE literally points out typos as you make them and failing builds always indicate the erroneous line. May have to scroll up a bit to find the actual cause but if you're frustrated all day long from trying to find bugs then you're not programming. You can produce several features in that time. Which is fun and creative.

Freelance/contract Software Engineer near Amsterdam, looking for a more private place somewhere on the world with better weather and nature. Maybe the coast of spain, or california.

Syracuse, New York

I don't think I can keep up with everyone in this field. The learning curve is so damn high. I've been coding for 2 years and I'm still not confident.

>Emus are devil birds. Just be thankful us strong Aussies keep them under control. You reindeer fuckers wouldn't last 5 minutes.
Jesus! They are like the Polar bear-whales of Australia! Racewar now, gas the emus!

>Real engineer here. Writing a crappy python script doesn't make you an engineer. Software "engineers" are like sanitation "engineers".
Never learned python at school, PLC programming, image processing, ML as stated, other forms of non ML based AI's, automation you know critical amp, laplace transformations and all that shit the CS guys can't do.

Dude Software engineer is the guys who make a robotic or PID controllers. They are not building them from scratch, just assembling and code.

I suspect this varies from country to country a bit, we design them on paper. Basically build your factory on blue paper with all sensors, instruments, voting systems and that shit. While the plebs are there to actually mount it all for us. Designing parts of processors too, but it's a great overlap with electrical and some mech engineers here, we share some courses. Not just the maths and physics.

Studied IT for two years and worked as helpdesk/administrator for a year while also learning to program in C#.
Then i found an utter and complete distaste for programmers and computer-people and now im studying as a technical-drawer or a 3D-constructor because money.

But to be quite honest i might end up taking small jobs as a carpenter because of my hatred the office.

Granted if I could turn back time, I think I would have gone for petroleum or chemical engineering instead, due too better conditions. Working conditions in the SW field here is nigger tier
>also didn't see
Computer engineer++, not software engineer.

>But to be quite honest i might end up taking small jobs as a carpenter because of my hatred the office.
Believe me, you are not the only one that has had that thought!

I werked as a coder before I took my degree, back then in the late 90ies you had only people who burned for the subject, now there are so many cucks and useless idiots. You always end up pulling the weight of 20 people at least.

Yes, Berkeley.

On the whole I think your hypothesis is correct.
2nd tier autists *ahem* engineers get cargo culted into populist ideologies easily though.

Thankfully memes are real and blockchain-wielding cryptoanarchists are quickly gaining ground against the libtards.

Considering that liberalism is a mental disorder, obviously.
Libertarians are patrician tier

Nice, I was thinking of taking a little trip there soon.

>go to aerospace thinking inventing and developinh cool shit is exciting
>end up a small gear in a factory beurocracy
>sign papers
My next life goal is to get good, say fuck it, and fuck off back home drawing anime porn for patreon.
I fucking hate going to work and doing this.

The first 2 havent been right for nearly half a decade.
For the third you have your own free time to do sports and stop eating sugar.

not really, the pay is pretty bog standard for london

Sounds legit.

Libertarians - smart people that cant concieve how dumb other people really are
Conservatives - people who can
Liberals - the dumb people mentioned above

> tfw walked into a team leader position and barely know shit about the actual software.

How do i keep these dweebs in line so they never revolt against me. Literally all i do is manage SVN, talk to the client once a month and create gaant charts. Help me.

Fuck me sideways, we have to take everything in account. We use matlab do the draft and then we buy controllers and circuits from the University to make the PID controller.

My university is the only one that does Internet of Things bachelor degree

(heiled)
Yeah, here too in our field as they move the factories out and the oil shit is down...

The lit only cool place to work is Kongsberg making missilies, but all the code of silence shit.
>Dad what do you work with?
I can't tell
>Dad...
You can't ask dad these questions.

Granted nothing is better than to make shit that fries shitskins, but that crap is not for me. Also from the family no-comment, so I hate that crap.

Sigh, next life lol

Funny story I met some mental Lebanese goy here a few back, which for some reason started to speak to me while I wuz smoking.
>what you work with?
I have my own shit right now, engineer
>OY VEY! YOU WORK FOR KONGSBERG!
>YOU ARE A JEW!
lol we don't have jews here, it's like 1300 of them, you basically are from kikeland
>YOU LIE YOU MAKE BOMBS AND ROCKETS
eh no
>LIAR!
funny, you shouldn't laugh at those "people" but still I could hardly hold my laughter, kekked when the dude went away, other people around me fell to the ground in laughter.

Lit
>Can I have a smoke?
yeah here
>Help Kongsberg!
he also said
>I know the spygame too! LOL I'm not memeing here

Yes.
England.

Literally the only jobs you'll find for that are if you go freelance (enjoy being outsourced to Pajeet in India, regardless of his code quality), willing to do temp jobs and move all around the country, or have the nepotism to get into Microsoft or Sony or another big boy, and then you'll likely live in London and be around pakis all day.

I just quit all of it, self taught myself 3D animation and now I'm doing far better than I was before and it's less stressful.

Programmer here in Aussieland QLD

you work in tech?
if so, how is it? I've heard it's a nightmare but I'm considering switching for the money

I'm a programmer. I'm sure most of my office is pretty left-wing, but I don't talk about politics at work much.

Coding is really either one of those things that you can or can't do, you'll probably know if it's for you after you get your degree.

Also, there's a big difference between commercial programming and scripting. You could be a financial trader writing Python scripts, and you'd be terrible at working in a software development team because you don't know how to work with a dedicated BA and tester.

Completely agree.
