Why weren't sub saharan Africans able to progress technologically like the Europeans and East Asians despite having all that natural resources at hand? Why weren't there any African intellectuals or philosophers worth noting in history? Does it have to do with the climate?

I have no real idea. It is really confusing to me.
The climate may have something to do with it, sure. I get lazy as fuck if it's hotter than 15 degrees out, but you'd think they'd adapt after so many millenniums.
