I work in a distribution center for a major retailer, my job can't be outsourced so instead they constantly raise our quotas but not our pay, and bitch when people can't keep up. I load trucks poorly and purposely break stuff, and I'm sure lots of other people at other places do the same, anything I can do to make them lose money. I'm glad retail stores are going out of business.

I would say that it fucking amazes me that investors are still falling for this one cool trick to increase profits, but at this point it's obvious they're just using these companies as pump-and-dumps to quickly amass personal wealth to the long-term detriment of the company itself.

This is exactly how a healthy economy works. The work that can be done cheaply in India will go to India. And there is no use forcefully keeping it in the US.
This will increase India's purchasing power and they can buy things that American companies sell. That can be anything from iPhone to Boeing aircrafts. And these US companies will hire more people in the US and will earn more for their shareholders who will spend those earnings in the US economy.
US should be training people for such cutting edge jobs instead of trying to hold on to routine IT jobs.
Its not a zero sum game. Dollars that go to India eventually do come back to the US too.

Funny how workers usually only do 2-6 hours of genuine work per day, but you will never ever ever be able to convince managers and executives to reduce work hours to a level that makes sense.

I think a large part of the issue stems from additional workers having additional sunk costs. So it's cheaper to have 1 guy overworked to death, than 2 or 3 people with pleasant and enjoyable hours.

Why fucking India? I would rather deal with a drunk Mexican than have to deal with India call centers. It's near impossible to understand them and they get mad as hell when you keep asking them to speak slower.

You understand that if we kick their 5 IT companies out of the US, they can also kick out 100s of US companies that do business in India and take over their assets. The amount of business that US companies do in India is way bigger than what Indian companies do in the US. This is not something that is reflected in the simple trade balance. But all these US companies from Coke to P&G to Nike, Starbucks to Boeing etc etc can also face similar retaliation. Almost all big US multinationals do business and earn revenue for their US shareholders in India.

One of the bigger problems isn't that people don't want to buy high quality goods, but that it's next to impossible to find out what items are ACTUALLY high quality goods. There is so much advertising (LYING) going on that you have to spend hours upon hours researching products just to find the ones that aren't cheap fucking chinese/indian crap that fail within 2 days.

You can't even just purchase on the basis of country of origin, or the manufacturer's brand name. Nothing is ever a guarantee of quality except extensive research on a product.

It's no wonder people buy the cheapest crap possible. It's easy to see what the cheapest items are and if you buy them and they fail, at least you aren't out a lot of money. Whereas purchasing something "good" for a decent amount, can completely fuck you over with an overpriced but still shit quality product.

And corporations moan and cry that people only buy cheap, but these morons have created an environment that emphasizes the cheap prices, rather than the fucking qualities by lying so fucking much in their advertisements.
