What is your opinion of work?

What is your opinion of work?

I left school and took a full time job and was miserable, I thought I was miserable because I didn't like the job, so I went back to education and got a "better" higher paying job.

I was happy during uni because I didn't really have commitments, only lectures etc and test which weren't that hard.

Now I have full time employment again and I'm back where I started, earning more, but still just as miserable.

I've looked in to the NEET lifestyle and I'm extremely tempted by it. My cash goes on junk, and most the stuff I get pleasure from is effectively free except internet which I could easily live without.

Are you a NEET? What's it like?
Are you full time employed?
Are you a student?

Why are you miserable at work? Do you flip burgers for a living?

Work isn't miserable unless you have no direction. You have to be aiming for something, doesn't matter what it is or why.

hmm this really made me think

If you don't want to work for companies, at least work for yourself. Move to the countryside, learn how to cultivate the land, raise cattle, fish regularly and fuck everything else. I'm currently studying specifically about corn farming and plan on moving to a valley 20 km from here in less than 7 years.
Just fucking do it.
Also I left college. Best decision ever.

Fucking this

Miserable because I'd rather be at home day dreaming.

Do what you love and if it is in a good field you will make money.

Always wanted to join the army but was pressured to go to college and get a white collar job because family was upper middle class. Nearly flunked out of college studying mechanical engineering, came to realize I hated it and pretty much said "fuck my parents, I'm joining the army." So I finished up my degree as fast as possible, joined the army as an infantry officer and have never been happier.

Pay is good, promotions happen on a semi-regular basis as long as you aren't a total fuckup, civilians in the US practically jerk you off if you go anywhere in uniform, great benefits, and I can retire by 46 and get like 30k per year after that. Since I don't spend much money I have saved almost everything so that 30k per year after I retire is probably closer to 40-45k per year. Plus women love a military men, especially if they are in a combat arm.

Parents fucking hated that I joined the army but fuck 'em.

Fucking nope

The trick is to never stop learning. Don't think that your degree is done, and now that's it...

Keep learning till you are at the point where you are highly sort after because of the skills you have acquired or you are able to command the terms of your desired position (FlexiTime, company car, etc)

Never just "do your job". Spend an hour each night learning something. It becomes routine in only around 30 days and you will progress beyond anyone just "doing their job"

What if I'd rather play games and day dream than learn?

I'm a neet.
DO NOT GO NEET.
I'd love to be forced into hard labour, And I'm so entrenched in this lifestyle that I can't do much without feeling extreme fatigue.

Your work habbits get better eventually, but you have to be consistent, and you have to recognize the reward in it is not just material. There's a stigma placed on cultivating inner qualities. Qualities that give men thick skin and decisive attitudes.
Cultivate those inner qualities. It's a bitch to do, but doing it is worth all the effort.
You can have breaks, take rests, but do not stay there.

Also literally this. If you don't know where you're heading or why then where is the incentive to continue?
Inner qualities.

This, sounds like OP is just chasing the cash.
Basically any job higher than burger flipper will pay enough to live on, the trick is finding a job that's tolerable. If you are looking for fulfillment get a hobby or do charity work.

I was looking for a job and then I found a job
And heaven knows I'm miserable now

Then you are what's wrong with society.
You need to do some soul searching and look for a higher purpose in life.
If your only drive in life is the avoidance of discomfort, then consider that living is by its nature uncomfortable and therefore death is preferable to life. In other words seriously consider suicide, it might be a good option for you

>being a glutton is the same as avoiding discomfort
lad its like the extreme opposite, being a hedonistic faggot is the desire to experience what is most enjoyable in life, not to just try and avoid discomfort

thats like saying CEOs that make millions of dollars should kill themselves because they try to avoid discomfort

I'd be more comfortable with it if a standard workday was 6 hours instead of 8. Seeing as I don't enjoy the work that I do, it's pretty draining to know that more than 1/3 of my day is dedicated to the workplace. I say more than 8 hours because it's hard to consider commuting to work "me" time.

>higher purpose in life

neck yourself snowflake, there is literally no higher purpose in life but your emotional feelings.

>Then you are what's wrong with society.

Most jobs are useless and can easy be replaced by AI, better ask yourself snowflake what is the meaning of a human being. There is none.

There is no point, disregard happiness, that is the cause of your troubles. Continuous striving will never lead to fulfillment.

Do nothing, conquer boredom. Enjoy freedom.

Good example of the kind of individual socialism produces. A nihilistic white nigger divorced from individual responsibility. Take notes, people.

Only fragile girly faggots and women need to be "fulfiled" and enjoy the job they work. 97% of the rest of us do it to pay the bills and put the food on the table. Do the things that make you happy in your spare time.

Bloody Westerners.

...

Nobody seems to like work. My career advisor a previous employer, just a long-time employee they partnered me up with for free, finally told me that she just liked her family, taking vacations, etc., very cynical but liberating in a sense. Even the people who virtue signal about how much they love their work say otherwise in their actions.

The biggest drain actually has been the people who I work with, when they are dishonest or otherwise dishonorable it becomes about making money for said
>family, taking vacations, etc.

However, most of the rest of your life will be work and sleep (where you will dream about work kek), so try to pick something that you enjoy. I like analyzing stuff, one of the reasons I like Sup Forums so much, so I work in an... analyst... type position. "Love your work, not the people you work for." And remember, it's harder to think about doing something than to just do it!

srry we never "gave communism a chance" and stinted our economies so we need to labor 15 hours a day to pay the landlord...
