Beer is what most men drink, but spirits and wine are very popular too. I'm a girl and I can't stand the taste of beer (and it's too manly for women imo), I like sweet cider and Polish Bison Grass vodka. I think the problem with our drinking is that people can't just drink to be sociable, too many get blind drunk and make complete degenerate idiots of themselves.

Most Americans don't eat McDonald's unless:

You don't. Pubs are as much social clubs as they are places to drink. They're to Brits what churches are to Poles.
Ale, larger and cider. Pubs are for socializing, not getting sloshed.

There are still tons of labourers in Britain. The problem is they go back to their homes to drink and smoke like Slavs instead of going to the pubs because of these oppressive laws.
Cheap booze, cheap fags and a nice social atmosphere are the heart of the British labourer lifestyle and is what has kept that part of our country healthy for centuries.

Ironically with the promise of keeping the bodies healthy the social situation has become cancerous.
