Is the free market partially to blame for our obesity problem in this country?

>people love junk food
>food companies know this
>make food less healthy and more addicting
>people buy more of it

What if food wasn't allowed to be unhealthy? Clearly, people can't be trusted to do the right thing, so should the choice be taken away from them?

Go watch that episode of sliders where you have to have a doctors note inorder to buy french fries.
also gtfo.

If god chose you to be a fat piece of shit so be it, if god chose to make pop tarts and Pepsi tasty, then who are you to judge? Free will is a fallacy, there is but one god and his name is Burgers!

>there is but one god and his name is Burgers!
so youre a necrophilic hindu?

People have the right to be as degenerate as they want, fuck off.

Yes, desu I'd like to see a government try to institute strict exercise and dieting programs and measures beyond the meme-tier bullshit we have now.

The only epidemic is the fact that women decided they "don't have to look good for no man" and mothers spewed that logic onto their daughters for the entire lives.

Most Asian mothers aren't like that, and tell their daughters to stay skinny and pretty, it has nothing to do with "muh magic asian diet".

I eat like shit most of the time, but I'm 10% bodyfat year round because I lift and track my calories (and macros). You can fit plenty of shit into your diet and still stay athlete tier lean year round. The only negative thing is that you'll still develop health issues, like I have. I got blood tested and my cholesterol was high, despite being 10%< bodyfat, that's because I don't give a fuck what I eat and will fit in a dozen eggs and tons of bacon into my calorie limit for the day. Although I stopped that now and cholesterol has come back down to normal levels.

If everyone counted their calories/macros (and stuck to it), plus lifted 2-4 times per week everyone would look like a fucking athlete, not even memeing.

We don't physically work ourselves as much as we used to. Food (or at least the base ingredients) is fairly cheap and abundant. It's an effect of industrialization more than anything else. I would think a lack of nutritional education also has something to do with this.

Nope, corn subsidies make junk food rely cheap.

>What if food wasn't allowed to be unhealthy?
Your inability to limit yourself and your own fat ass should not be turned into my problem. STOP EATING YOU FUCKING PIG!

They just need to inform people of the calories. If your soda had a label: Hey fatass, this large soda could provide a weeks worth of calories to a starving dying kid in Ethiopia, but go ahead, have it with your doubleburger and fries, enjoy it.

It's to a great extent genetic.

If you were to measure only whites, I doubt out obesity rates differ much from the European standards. The problem is LaToya and Rosalita skewing the obesity statistics.

At least 85% of 35+ blacks and Mexicans are morbidly obese on the street. Take my anecdote for all it's worth. They have no impulse control, and love that food stamp money.

>Is the free market partially to blame for our obesity problem in this country?

Government subsidies to corn producers are more to blame here. But ultimately the blame rests on the individuals who chose to eat too much fast food too often without doing enough exercise.

In a truly unrestrained market, these people would kill themselves off, thing is we have free social safety nets everywhere. The answer is less government not more. Stop trying to regulate your way to utopia.

>Yes, desu I'd like to see a government try to institute strict exercise and dieting programs

Actually our education system needs to stop being so cavalier with phys ed. It needs to happen at least 4 times a week. It needs to be about more than just keeping kids fit. It needs to be about letting kids experience various forms of physical activity so they can have a basis in all of them and chose which they prefer doing. To give them the habit of being physically fit.

And we need to teach kids how to shop for food and cook for themselves. Start with how to make lunches and snacks cheap and simple for themselves, then move into the basis of cooking techniques, then give them a decent repertoire of simple meals they can make for themselves or their family.

Let people do what they want

That chick is so fat omg
That pic is triggering to my fat fettish and I can't take it
I think women should be banned to take pictures of their fat bodies because they obviously can't be trusted to do the right thing. I think the choice should be taken away from them...

...and also taken away from you for posting idiot clickbait, unless your from Africa where everyone's a skeleton. That's your only free pass negro.

>massive agricultural subsidies for certain crops
>"""free market"""

>Can I blame anything other than myself for eating like a pig and getting fat?
As if its shoved down our throats. Just because there's a candy and snack isle at the grocery store doesn't mean you have to go down it.

damn
Even in cosplay twobie is fucking hot

>Is the free market partially to blame for our obesity problem in this country?
You could say that, without the free market we would never have gotten all these labor saving devices we have now so we would still be walking around doing manual labor.

When I was in school we had home Ec class which taught everything from cooking to sewing and balancing a check book they need to make this class mandatory and teach them about credit scores

Doesnt all your processed food contain a FUCK ton of sugar? so the main problem is the sugar more than anything else

communism won't fix it

NatSoc will

this

>What if food wasn't allowed to be unhealthy?

Authoritarian nutjob detected.

>What if food wasn't allowed to be unhealthy?
Define that for me please in a technical sense able to be used as the base for a law.

In a true free market, people would probably die unless they were rich enough to afford shitty food and also health care. However, people who are rich enough to afford health care probably wouldn't be stupid enough to eat shitty food.

No, it's negroes bringing down the average.

man it's been a while since I saw sliders
man fuck that show, had somewhat good shit in the beginning and then went straight to shit.

>thinking that unhealthy food makes you fat

Seems like the education system has failed you my good man.

>is the free market the problem?
>implying the market in the us is a genuine free market
See
Most of the time the problems that people try to blame on the free market are to blame on the fact that the market isnt free enough.

Plannified economy is ALWAYS a cancer, you should have learned that through the example of the multiple socialist attempts.

>genetics

Top kek

partially to blame... yes.
entirely? no.

The FDA food guidelines were designed by agrobiz and have been shit for decades. The difference between "grains" and "sugar" is non-existant for 99% of grain containing products.

The free market lets retards do what they want. The laziness caused by jewry has weakened our people. What should be done is to educate our citizens on why things are bad and what the best choice is- Making sure it's easily accessable and affordable. Junk shouldn't be outright banned, but limited.

Yes of course it is to blame

Honestly there should be way more regulations put on food, many additives act like drugs, food addiction is very real

>hey have no impulse control

Yes that's a big problem

So even if you educate people on what is good and bad, the low impulse people will just do the bad anyway

This is why you need to regulate this shit, you can't just let food manufacturers create these drug-like concoctions that make people get addicted to their food

Since I always do this here's a better image quality.

>more restrictions
>less free choice
>food is as addictive as drugs

Mmm. Perhaps reddit is more your place, or maybe tumblr?

as it sits, the regulations encourage high intake of processed grains. (sugar)
They were written by agrobiz and have little to nothing to do with public health.

So clearly just saying "we need more regulations" isnt going to do shit other than give the agrobiz lobbyists an opportunity to write some more legislation.

What do you actually want? what does winning look like to you. Giving a legislative session to agrobiz lobbyists doesnt seem like winning to me.

Scratch that, I can get even better.

nice

Again, better quality.

Part of it is our government telling us to eat 6 servings of carbohydrates each day, for decades.

people will still make choices to get fat, organic cane sugar soda will still get you fat as fuck

notice me senpai

The show died when they killed off the professor.

free market would solve obesityproblem

> getting fat and unhealthy
> no one pays for ur shit
> die
> problem solved because nobody wants to die

No. Fully. Healthy people don't get obese until old age.

We need to go deeper

who is this semen demon

No. The lack of sugar tax, then subsidizing healthy food with the revenue from the sugar tax is to blame for the obesity problem.

This

If you look at any footage of people walking the streets 50 or 100 years ago, everyone looks fit. No fat people anywhere to be seen
youtube.com/watch?v=cs2j8f7H2WY

Fatness is not a natural thing, it's a lifestyle pushed on people by sophisticated marketing operations. Pumping the food full of artificial sugars, then putting out slick marketing campaigns advertising them. People line up for it like hogs to the trough. There is no force pushing back against it.

People mostly do, think, and buy what the TV tells them to. They are like simple minded animals that blow with the social breeze.

this

black cock slut

Its sad because they capitilize on the fact that healthier food is actually more expensive.
Atleast in the US
Its bullshit
