Isn't environmentalism a tenet of fascism? Those natural resources exist to serve the nation. While they can be utilized they must also be preserved.
If we quit funding and fighting everyone on the planet we'd already have probes on the way to the nearest stars, whether by light sail of pulsed-nuclear etc. This planet easily has the resources to allow us to exploit the solar system, and the solar system has the resources to get to the stars. It's a matter of commitment to the long term and stopping the gibs, if some niggers and faggots will probably need to starve or be shot before everyone is on board, oh well. If we need to mess up the planet further, oh well, give it a few thousand (or many thousand) years, it will recover
