I'd like to discuss the view of the media of your country on other countries. Even If you dont consume any mainstream media I've got the feeling that the media try to draw a specific image of a country. Or it doesnt even "exist".
German media on:
>USA
Totally #1 represented country. When Obama was elected, everything was cool. Obama was cool too. Since Trump it feels like "the poor poor Americans". On repeat.
>Russia
Just plain evil. Since I was a kid.
>China
You often hear about their economics.
>Rest of Asia
???????
>Scandinavia
You almost hear nothing about them. But it seems that everything is fine there.
>GB
London is GB. Period. Brexit not good.
>Ireland
Didnt hear anything about it in years.
>France
Paris is france. No riots there. Everything is nice. Visited Paris once on new years eve. Never again.
>Belgium, Netherland, Luxembourg
Almost never. Only if someone "important" is marrying.
>Ukraine
Russia is evil
>Rest of countries between Germany and Russia
Dont exist (but Poland is far right)
>Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal
Dont take enough refugees.
>Africa
You "only" (almost daily) hear about it if someone drops bombs or its related to refugees.
>Australia
A whole fucking continent that doesnt exist.
>Mexico
If theres news its drug- or crime related.
>South America
Who? Its so strange. You only hear about it if theres Carneval in Brazil. Chile? Argentina? Cant remember.
>Canada
Who?
